Adding a friend

by wise23girl Online Now May 25, 2012 at 12:22 AM

Someone is trying to add me as a friend....where do we do that now? The new system has started and Robyn wants to accept me and we cannot find where to do this.

There is an "Add Friend" link at the bottom line of the rectangle underneath the Pasport Picture (in the right upper corner)on a member's Profile Page. PJ

Well I can see that invite on your Home page but we could not find it on her H P using her laptop ....She was trying to respond to my invite. Am I mad? I know they are changing the options...She has gone now so I will have to wait for the next time to help her....rockingrobin! ................................................................................... I have looked at her HP and there is no 'add a friend' that I can see but there was yesterday as I added her. "Take time to smell the flowers." - rockingrobyn's Profile

    Adding a friend

I see two places to add a friend, one in the member info panel, and one further down below meetings and friends. If you have already added her, you won't see it. On her computer if you are looking at her profile page, and she is logged in, you won't see Add a Friend.

No but I should see the option to delete and it is not there. I think that option to block is coming in and maybe there is a glitch.

wise23girl - I just tested out the new friends system and it looks like it is working properly. There are the steps to accept or deny a friend request... 1. Go to the requestor's profile page 2. If they sent you a friend request, there will be a link under their member photo that says "Respond to Request". Click this link. (If the link says "Add Friend", the site did not register that she made a friend request. If that is the case, you can request to be friends with her by clicking the link.) 3. A small layer will pop-up and ask if you want to "Cancel", "Accept", or "Decline". Pick the option you want. If you click "Accept", the layer will close and the link will change to "Remove Friend". You are now friends. If this is still not working for you, please let me know where the steps do not match what you are seeing. Thanks!

And I think it's pertinent to mention, that you see different items on your homepage when you are logged in to someone else viewing your homepage.

Yes I know my view is different to others Pam but the member was here with me...she is new and finding the site difficult as she is not conversant with computers. We had her computer plugged in to my network and both computers were open on VT. So now I have to wait till she comes again for me to give her a hand. Thanks for your help .....

As it turned out I added the member to my list instead of vice versa and we could not follow up even as I explained when sitting side by side with our computers. Now when I look at her page I see a sign 'Cancel Request" Maybe that will stay there until she can accept me....when she comes again for me to help her..... I noticed on another members page (who was on my friends list) the same sign 'Cancel request' so I wonder if that person has deleted me?
