How can you see who rated you and what was the rating, can't figure this out?
You will never never know unless the person who rated you tells you. All you know is you have been rated. Some members and I am one of them leave a comment on the respective travel page ....then you can respond with a "Thanks for the visit".....some members but not many in my experience will look at your pages and if they like what they see rate you in return. To more easily leave a comment after you have rated go to the snail trail above where you will find the link....

That is the mystery behind VT! Fortunately, there are no negative ratings, all positive ones only, be it one thumb or five thumbs!! I may add, that is also the philosophy behind the Gita - just do your duty, don't think of the reward.

I think if you rate a tip with one or two stars, this will count as a negative rating. As far as I know there was at least one member who was rated down immensely by a lot of negative ratings, all done anonymously. And of course the thumbs up or down in the forum also differentiate between positive and negative ratings.

Curious about the "no negative ratings" comment. As right at the bottom of every forum post are 2 thumbs. "Was this reply helpful?" yes or no. No seems negative to me.

@Arbil ...Yes you are correct about forum ratings but the remark was about ratings for reviews (tips) where there is a scale of 1-5. And who knows how the VT machine determines the count...Is '2' negative or only '1'?

@Arbil=Yes, you are right. I'm sorry. Got mixed up regarding 5 thumbs (all up) in the review tips forum and the travel tips (1 up, 1 down) forum. I'm all thumbs! (Bad joke!).
