In the past I remember sending photos along with mail to vt friends. Have I just forgotten how to or is this facility not available any more? Carole.
Go to your VT Email. Click on "Compose a new message" Click on "Attach a File" Click on "Browse" This will then take you to your files on your pc, select the photo you want and it will then attach it to your Email. However there could be a problem, if the photo file is too big, VT's Emailing system won't send it so you may need the external Email address of the person you want to send the photo to.

That sounds familiar Ricky thank you. My confusion must stem from the fact that I was replying to a mail sent to me and couldn't find the clues. Carole.

But I think the 'send a postcard' feature is 'out of order'

.... and that only works with photo's smaller than 250k in filesize. In fact you will see this message: Mail will not be delivered if attachment's size is over 256KB if you use the "Attach a file" link. PJ

This, imo, merits repetition: VT email attachement accepts only 256 KB files. So if your picture or file is larger, you can't send. Ways to reduce your picture or file size: 1. Use pkzip program to zip (make the picture file smaller). 2. If you are using any photo editor, use the 'Save As' option and then reduce the resolution of the picture (.jpg format). Be aware that reducing the resolution of a picture, degrades the quality of the picture. You may then even zip the picture file. 3. Ask the recepient for an external email id, eg., gmail or hotmail or yahoo. Then use your external email program to send the picture or file. These emails allow larger-sized attachments to be uploaded, with gmail having a 25MB limit. 4. In case you are chary of giving you external email id to a stranger, sign up for any of the email programs mentioned above with a different username and password. Use this 'ghost' external id of yours to do the job. Similar to an OTP (One Time Password).
