Hoping someone can help me with this one. Slightly long and complicated story but here we go ….. I was running a hooky copy of windows office and started to get the window up telling me it was none genuine so thought I had better get a legitimate copy, this I did so on EBay, a Genuine Microsoft Small Office but the 1997 edition, I uninstalled the hooky copy of office and installed the “New” office 1997 which included Outlook which I hadn’t previously had installed on my computer, I decided to continue using Outlook Express until a later date when I had more time to set it all up and all went well apart from the fact that I lost Power-Point. So I borrowed a friends Office 2000 disk and installed this – This got me the missing Power-Point as well as updating Outlook and I thought that all was OK. Unfortunately a few days later I noticed that my outlook express address book had disappeared – I opened up Outlook and it wasn’t there either so I read a few internet forums and did as suggested which was to search for “wab” files but although I found two relevant files, these only had the addresses from emails that I had replied to in the last couple of days – so all the old addresses have “Disappeared” If I can’t get them back then I still have copies of most of the addresses on emails in various folders as well as them all on a block sent Christmas Card –But I can’t figure a way of saving them from either the folders (Other than individually) or from the Block Sent email as although I can copy them to a new email, I can’ see a facility of then being able to add them to my address book, there is a tab to add addresses from recipients but not senders. Thanks in advance for any help with this Rob
Under XP these files are under: C:\Documents and Settings\Gebruiker\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express PJ

You could try to to a system restore to a restore point before you uninstalled Office...If that works you can export your address book and import it later into your newly installed office.

Is there nothing under .../Identities? PJ

This is how Microsoft says to do it. office.microsoft.com/en-us/o... Actually I would just dump Microsoft altogether and get Open Office and Thunderbird. Both are free. Open Office has equivalents to most things in Microsoft office and can even save things in Microsoft format. Thunderbird allows you to import your address book from either Microsoft product.
