Mrs Brown,s boys

by margsch Online Now Jul 19, 2012 at 7:57 AM

this question is for people who DO enjoy this comedy, I love it! It has only just started in Australia. Would like an opinion of the DVD Mrs Brown,s Bloomers, the outtakes from the show. It,s not available in shops here but have seen it advertised on Irish websites, I,ll go ahead and buy it if it,s good.

Yes, I love it too. Honestly don't know how it gets aired! :-) Well I haven't seen the dvd, but I cannot imagine it being anything less than hilarious. Gotta be worth the cost surely. Have you seen the episode where Mrs Brown does the home bikini wax?!!!!!!

Thanks for your info., yep the bikini wax has to be my favorite episode, that Brenton O,Carroll is a very talented man, he/she has such a way with words. It is very irreverant but it,s the only time I hear swearing and find it hilarious.

It,s on here after 9p.m. which means it can be a classififation up from PG. I have sewing girls here on a wednesday night and we watch it, one lady, with tears of laughter rolling down her face, staggered out of her chair saying "I,ll have to go to the loo, I,m going to wet my pants". The Irish accent really adds to the comedy and for Aggy Brown nothing is sacred. And poor Grandad!

You gotta be quick to keep up with what is being said. The Irish really do speak at that speed. My (Cockney/London) husband is laughing so hard sometimes and wiping tears away, he has then missed the next bit. Last year it was on Saturday nights and repeated on Monday night. It was great because we could pick up the bits we missed! For all it's daftness, I like the bit at the end where Mrs Brown thinks aloud/talks to the camera, and there is usually an "Awwwww" moment.

Tuning in to the accent was hard for me the first time too but I don,t have a problem with it now. It is one of the best comedies I have ever seen, I believe they are making series 3 now so hope that comes on the telly after this lot.

I've been watching it here in the Uk, and am hooked. When my husband came last month, he caught on to it too. It's brilliant

Last week it was about Dermott,s upcoming wedding, the TV camera was accidentally in shot and Aggy yells out "Dermott, the man,s here about the Wedding video", she can cleverly adlib. A few lines I lik are: to the priest giving the prewedding talk, he asks If they are aware of the Churches stance on contraception, Aggy replies "if you don,t play the game you don,t make the rules!" when something startled her she blurts out "Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the donkey!!"
