Yesterday was my first VT anniversary - I am all grown up now and no longer a rookie :-) And it has been a great first year! I've had the privilege of meeting seven VTers over the past year in person (not including the one I sleep with) and oh-so-many-more virtually. With very few exceptions, everyone has been so wonderfully kind as well as great fun - even if I don't chime into the forum discussions often, it is fun to read the banter back and forth! Our recent trips have been memorable based on the great advice from fellow VTers. And...the postman just brought me a pair of VT flip-flops from a VT Facebook contest :-) Thank you fellow VTers for an awesome first year -- looking forward to my second and hopefully meeting many of you in Romania next year :-) ~Brenda
Happy VTaversary to you!
Congrats, VT sure is exciting and sounds like you have been having a great time. Cheers Dorrise.
Way to go Brenda Keep having fun for many more years to come . Hansi
Congrats! Good to hear from you!
Gee, you've racked up a lot of tips in just 1 year. Did you take any meal breaks? How did you find time to go on trips as well?
The OP's Reviews/Tips are, IMO, very well researched and informative, besides being very practical and down to earth. These helped me immensely while planning my trip to Italy, ie., Rome, Florence, Chianti in Greve, Venice and Paris - the OP's birthplace. Quite certain the OP ate very well while on holidays during the weekends whilst making full use of the computer to write the Reviews/Tips, in the evenings. Finally, equally certain other VTers found OP's contribution very useful, so gave plenty of Thumbs Ups!
Oh, I missed it! Happy happy anniversary dear Brenda :-)))) I am so glad you found your way to this site and write about your discoveries :-)) Thanks for makinging me want to go to Rome although I always thought it is too big for me. And ... thanks that you and Tom have decided to hop into the streetcar and wiped your brief thoughts away that it would be strange to meet someone in person whom you only knew from the internet :-)) You became a sunray in my life :-)
Thanks everyone! It's been such a fun year! Moving to Europe has given me plenty of opportunities to travel and I love to write so it is a winning combination...add to it wonderful new friends with VT and I have the best of all worlds. Ingrid~you are a bright shining star in my time in Germany - so glad we took a chance on this unknown woman on the other end of the tram! Anil~you are so very kind; my tips hopefully reflect my love of travel and research. VT has given me an opportunity to learn more about the places I visit through in-depth research before and after my trips. So glad you are enjoying my tips...can't wait to hear about your recent visit to Italy! Iain~I am traveling almost every weekend, but I have lots of time during the week so VT had become a strong writing outlet for me. Oh - and I go to the gym several times a week because, well, I eat very well ;-) Thanks all!
Happy VTversary, Brenda! Now you can come and play with the adults! You're the best new writer we've seen here in ages, and VT is a richer place for you having joined! Regards Cathy
If there'd be the "like" thing, Cathy, I'd click that immediately. Well said :-) Brenda, thanks :-)) You are so sweet!!
But then we'd be on Facebook, Ingrid dear, and as you well know, I don't go there! As for you, Brenda, well you're a tease! People will be thinking that you're a very friendly girl if you have only been on VT for a year and are already sleeping with a fellow member ... mind you, having met Tom, I can appreciate the temptation ;) So hoping that we can all get together in Romania next year - if not sooner!
Thanks, Cathy! Ha! I guess it is okay for me to continue to sleep with a rookie ;-) since I recruited him to VT. Seriously, thanks for your kind words but it is people like you and Ingrid that inspire me on this site! Yes, Romania in 2013 or before!
Shalom Brenda and Happy anniversary. I wonder what you will do now that you are no longer a "rookie" here on VT. Will you live up to your first year? I think few of us have lived up to what you have done already. Always enjoy your trips and your sharing here on VT. Martin
Thanks, Martin! I hope I can continue to have as much fun in the upcoming years with VT as I have had in the first! ~Brenda
