There is a rolling list on the VT Frontpage, and a link to the full list. It's just above the title "Top Member Photos". It's been there since the new Frontpage showed up :-)

This should really go in the tech forum but as a thread has been started here.... I used to get a notice on the DAY of a VT friend's b-day but that doesn't appear to be happening anymore. I still get advance notices a week or so before but not on the day anymore. Made the mistake of punching "mark all as read" on my notices listings last week, assuming that I'd still get that daily natal day alert, and now I'm toast for those occurring this week. So those day-of notices are no more?

i lost all the notices of birthdays for the friends list a few weeks ago. so i resorted to using the big list on the home page to check each day. now, as i first posted, that link has also disappeared. perhaps we are tolkien's elves and no longer age.

I hadn't noticed that the "of the day" birthday reminder hasn't been popping up! I just looked at "Friend's Birthdays" from my Dashboard page and found the dates up comming, not past dates. Guess that is a way to check until the whole thing gets straightened out?

Oh ok, so you don't see the birthdays rolling list on Frontpage any more. I still see it. As well, I still get birthday notices albeit the day before, but I just figured it was a timezone thing that it was not the actual day. Anyway they are looking at the issue of notices being doubled up so hopefully they will sort all glitches at the same time. I never really understand if these differences are server or provider or brower or timezone or worldzone .....

I can see birthdays on the homepage but no scrolling list like those for reviews, forum postings and comments. You have to click on the link and get thumbnails of all the birthday people rather than just their names.

Can you see the "rolling" bdays on Frontpage?

Nope. When I said 'home page' I meant the front page of VT. I can see 'Today's birthdays' as a link and one member birthday displayed. No rolling at all, although I've just spotted 'it' changing to another member (just one). Very sloooowly. Scrollover has not effect whatsoever but cicking gets you to the thumbnail listings.

OK mine is rolling thru the members who have birthdays today, very quickly. I have no "scroll over" . That function is not meant to be there. but you can click on "Today's birthdays" to get the expanded list. Clearly you aren't getting what you should, ie the list is meant to roll through faster than you are seeing it obviously.

When I say 'scrollover' (remember I'm not techie!) I mean that the list doesn't expand in the same way as the forum postings and comments lists expand. Should the birthdays list expand as well? If not, I've just fantasised it doing so in the past. :-) It is moving *much* much more quickly now (showing one member at a time) so perhaps there was a server issue somewhere between me and it which slowed it down before?

still no today's birthdays, persistent blank space. don't understand how some folks have it and others don't. of course, there's a lot i don't understand. and katie is leaving tom, no surprise there i guess.

I think...think...there are sortof intermediate sever thingies between me and VT, and you and VT, and them and VT etc. And they won't necessarily be the same server thingies. So I can see it's possible that I can have something different to Pam and we can both have something different to you. And it may not be VT's glitch at all. Probably. It's that child I worry about (actually, I don't worry at all, that's a lie. But you get the gist). An obvious disaster in the making if ever there was one.

The birthday list is rolling - that is the listed bday is changing all the time, as it rolls through the entire list. It's moving constantly for me, I see a new name every couple of seconds without refreshing the page :-)

Maybe you need Flash to make this work?

If it's not meant to expand (I clearly fantasised) then it was 'stuck' for a while last night but started working properly again.

Oh good. It does expand when you click on it, but not by rolling cursor over :-) So it's changing now for you?

Yes, it's progressing at its normal (I assume) rate this morning.
