meetings-conventions.com/art... I got this from Meetings and Conventions. There have been several accounts of your information not being secure at Wyndham hotels.
Stayed there once at Cable Beach in the Bahamas. I could cash traveller cheques one to one with the face value; no charges at all; no ID required. Telephone costs were ten times higher than at Florida. But I have no indication my credit card data was compromised. PJ
As a cyber analyst, this is not news at all. If I told you how insecure private industry is in general about protecting information, you just wouldn't leave the house and use cash only. Unfortunately, this is about all the government can do because privacy advocates prevent legislation from being passed that could counter a lot of this. Another problem is that even with current pending legislation, it would be totally voluntary for companies to report such incidents AND they would not be liable for loss. They care more about embarrassment and profit loss, than the protection of their customers. This is fact. Privacy is a thing of the past, so privacy advocates are a hindrance than a help in cyberspace. Read the latest here from the FBI: http://www.fbi.gov/news/news_blog
