Lonesome George, the Galapagos tortoise, died today at about 100 years old. He was the last of his species, which is why he was "lonesome." I saw him years ago at the Darwin Station.
Let us have hope. When the tsunami went through a few years ago, the really big one, there were many species found we did not know about before. We really don't know that it was the last one.
