Was luck enough to have Ray Bradury visit my creative writing class in high school. What a wonderful man. Spent the hour with us walking us through the creative writing process. 1973. St Bernard High School, Playa del Rey, Ca.

another - hardly so intellectual - passing was richard dawson host of the tv show family feud, most noted for trying to kiss all the female contestants. also on hogan's heroes as newkirk ( don't know if he tried to kiss Bob Crane ). esophageal cancer, stated to have lived only three weeks after the diagnosis. gather those rosebuds.

Rod Serling hosted Twilight Zone, I don't think he wrote for it. a paragraph from one of the obits: His writings ranged from horror and mystery to humor and sympathetic stories about the Irish, blacks and Mexican-Americans. Bradbury also scripted John Huston's 1956 film version of "Moby Dick" and wrote for "The Twilight Zone" and other television programs, including "The Ray Bradbury Theater," for which he adapted dozens of his works

Thoroughly enjoyed Fahrenheit 451, first read over 50 years ago. The film still gets on TV here in the Uk from time to time

@Trish - Rod also did write some episodes. In fact he has won more Emmys for writing then anyone according to this article. pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters... I actually had an opportunity to meet Rod Serling in Houston when I was a senior in college. He was a speaker at a conference I was at. Several of us saw him at the hotel we were staying sitting down for breakfast. We went over to say hi and he actually invited the 3 of us to join him for breakfast. Imagine a well know TV personality inviting 3 20 somethings for breakfast. A nice man who talked to us about everything including his daughters upcoming marriage.
