I got back this afternoon, have had no internet access and haven't read any posts (so apols if this has already been done). I just wanted to 'officially' thank everyone who came to Bergamo and made Eurmeet a success. It was lovely to re-meet so many old friends and make new ones....and you all made the weekend very special. We planned it as 'your meet' and you really *did* make it yours. So, from Gilly and Sue and me, a *huuuuuuuuuuuge* 'thank you'! :-) (I'll put my photos in travelogues on my Bergamo page when I get myself a bit more together).
And we want to officially thank YOU! For a fabulous and thoroughly delightful meeting :) What a great time and what a splendid weekend you set up for all of us!
We only planned the 3 meals...you lot did all the rest! :-)
Sounds like a great job was done by all ... now who are the lucky souls that get to organise the next one? I hear rumour of Romania?
Yes, Sibiu in Romania was confirmed for the 2013 Euromeet at the Saturday Bergamo meal. The organiser is codrutz: "You've reached my travelling addiction page :)" - codrutz's Profile but I have no more info as yet.
J, As always it was agreat pleasure and what you organized was wonderful. May I suggest you stay from the travel forum for some more days :) PJ
Thank you, PJ! I've not been on the travel forums since last Friday so...erm...I'll be back! :-)
Yes, big thanks to YOU, J! And Gilly and Sue!

Thank you Jane and of course thanks also to Gillian and Sue. It was a wonderful weekend, superbly organised and so, so enjoyable.
I'm really pleased you had a good weekend, Katherine. We deliberately did the minimum of organising because we felt members could sort themselves out perfectly well ...and you all did. :-)
And also a big thanks to the folks who helped organize side meets like Elena, Rita, and of course Chiara for helping with all the Italian etc. Seems like you ladies did a great job of including others too and making it truly Eur (Your) Meet :)
Id like to say thank you to everyone who made it ...and were such a pleasure to be there with...and thanks for making The Man feel welcome too...it means a great deal...K.

Hear, hear!!! The weekend was a great time - and thanks to those who arranged pre- and mini-meets! Sue and I are now in Milan having a quick rest before heading out to Bruce Springsteen's concert.
Jane, Thanks to you, Gillian and Sue for a wonderful weekend in Bergamo! Great location, great food and great people (as always!). Anne Marie
Really good to hear that you guys had a good meet ad sorry for not coming. This is so not me to stay away from the euromeet, but i was so worn down by stress in early may that i had to take a good 3 week holiday and in order to finance my upcoming 10 week trip to Asia and Australia i needed to work a little more and the week the euromeet happend was a very busy week in the travel industry and i manged to get a particular good deal for 1 week of work that allows me to take the rest of the summer off from work and not work again till august 30. But i will be back next year. Romania is one of my favorite countries in Europe and i would love to go back there and i also have a big desire to visit Moldova which is next door.
We missed you of course Claus, but (also of course) entirely understand why you couldn't make it...and we know you were there in spirit! :-)
Dear organising ladies and VT Staff (all of you) and to all attendees (Real and Virtual): I am exhausted. Its all your fault. Up early, out all day, out all night. Up the big hill. Down the big hill. Up the tall tower, down the tall tower. My work is suffering, I have a headache and my back hurts. I love you folks! And VT! So when it the next one again?
haha that is funny Dave They made you do it all eh Well just wait till you reach our age haha you will really be tired doing all these thingies Anyways we did more downhill then uphill thank goodness. One evening no buses no taxis so down the hill we went using both feet And we survived it all ,but now back to reality cleaning Pool trim and cut grass etc etc Next May we will do it all over again eh Ciao Ciao Hansi
Next June will be the 2013 Euromeet in Romania Next May will be the first annual "Active Meet"
Euromeets are most usually the the last weekend, or second to last weekend, in May. This year was late because the UK had an extra bank holiday thanks to Queenie and the usual bank hol was pushed back a week. I don't know Codrutz's dates yet but it's quite possible that Hansi is right and that euromeet 2013 will be in May.
Yes because I just go around talking without knowing anything usually dont I? I have already spoken to Codrutz to liase with him over the dates so we dont clash in our organisation of meetings and he has informed me he is considering one or two weekends in June next year.... ...
Kirsty, you clearly know more than Hansi or I about Codrut's intentions. Fair enough. No need to be cross.
I'm sure Codz will publish the details here shortly, as is customary and no doubt there will be some negotiations to try and accommodate everyone. And yes Hansi, for those of us who've been around for a while, May = Euromeet on our internal calendars :))
Codrutz has organised meets in the past and he's a very organised person that i am sure will come up with a good solution in the end and host a really good meet.
