I am really not sure where to post this as there is no specific geographic area on VT for it but I will post this for whatever small good it might do.
I am currently in the Visayas in the Philippines (Negres oriental to be precise) and we have all watched for the last few days and with great interest an Area of Low Pressure Activity (ALPA) nearby and whether it was going to increase ijto the first typhoon of this year. According to various websites, this is now the case and Typhoon Ambo is (from our point of view) thankfully heading Northeast away from this country although we are getting some fallout (heavy rain and strong winds) from the ALPA.
I hope that there are official ways of letting people know about these things but I thought I would add my tuppence worth here. Sadly there are already casualties so I just post this here for anyone who may be in the path of the typhoon and as yet be unaware of it. I hope everyone remains safe.
Apologies for the omission, here is one of a number of linksb I should have posted initially.
