Friiidaaaay! 1st of June and a good reason for a round! Today's pubfact, and good to know when travelling: Mosquitoes prefer children to adults, blondes to brunettes.
From a mosquito's point of view I am clearly still a blonde child. :-(
I cant work out for the life of me why they go for my feet....they must have a blocked nose or something!
As soon as I finish my working day I hit the road to the mediterranean coast...and tomorrow it will be Port-Aventura(a great amusement park close to Barcelona).....I will wait drinking my virtual beer. Since I travel with my wife...I am mosquitos free. I am sorry for her, but it is good for me, lol. By the way, as we are in the pub and sports talk is usual....I will accept any bet against Spain for the European Football Tournament. We are the present world champs and Euro champs...so I know it is not a big risk. lol.

The mozzies here are not only colour blind but deaf and dumb too!! they sure know how to drink and suck up (blood that is). I need a bit of red too!! Cheers Dorrise
Why do I react differently (horrendously) to mosquitoes on 'mainland' Europe than the UK? Is that because I'm more used to them? Happy Friday everyone! I hope the UK residents are looking forward to the 4 day weekend. I am.
Well I'm safe from bug bites, then. I was blonde, but more grey now. Very distinguished looking, needless to say. Pub fact - I took part in my first pub quiz last night. A charity fundraiser. And my team won! I've always avoided these things because they ask questions about stuff which passes me by - like movies, soap operas, football. But other team members took care of that - and I took care of travel, food & drink!
And 'distinguished' is a euphemism for ...??? Only asking because I am becoming more 'distinguished' by the day if we're talking about hair colour ... and I still find 'pensioner blonde' to be unpalatable! Another related pubfact - offered by the peerless Daily Mail online today (so ot must be true!) is that bedbugs don't bother to bite drunk people ... clearly one for our budget travellers!
It's a euphemism for "mature", I suppose. Not that I intend acting my age, of course.
Our mosquitoes must be really confused--this old, gray, former brunette is a prime target. Hi, Sean! Nice to see you.
Good news on the mozzie front then, I am old and grey. On the football front, Spain are definitely a good side and a good bet although I would not rule out the Germans, they always seem to turn it on when they have to.
They have better mosquitoes in Spain ::) off to my night out as tom is Mother's day in France.so better to get some mosquito juice tonite so we will be inmune to choosing tomorrow. cheers
