Please, folks, get a grip...there is no need for all this banter. Agree to disagree. Suffice it to say that the VTer in question is a fraud - there are numerous lifted photos of all kinds of things on his pages - no continent is excluded from the ones he claims to have visited! Even without the photos of his wife, we can conclude that about him and, IMHO, he should be removed immediately. And there was no "porn" in that sense. There were risque photos but nothing x-rated was posted. Just rather offensive photos, especially for women who see that as degrading and abusive. This was the first time I got involved in a Misc Forum -- maybe next time I should sit them out! Whew!

Sophia and anyone else wanting a link, the objectionable "soft porn" photos that started this thing are no longer there. They're gone. Yes, they were photoshopped, the originals were lifted from other sources, and those sources were produced and reported. Some of us know what the pix looked like before being photoshopped, and we know what they looked like after. The appearance/identity of the person in the original was altered and passed off to us someone else - multiple times. And there are others we either know or strongly suspect have been altered as well. I haven't had the time to run any more tineye checks today either. Suffice it to say there isn't a one of us who wouldn't strongly object to our photos being snitched, altered - especially in a lascivious manner - and posted on a public website? In addition to the acts of plagiarism - and aside from how I feel about the possible exploitation of the spouse - it was intentionally fraudulent to pass extensively tampered images off as original. It's as much the breach of VT's integrity some of us are upset about as anything.

I am astonished that the fraudster member is apparently being allowed to remain and presumably cling on to his ranking, 5* and all the rest of it.

Well, the Mothership has been up to their ears with the move, I think. :O)

When tips/reviews are removed, the photos often take a day or two to disappear.

See, in reality this is all part of a new, complex marketing scheme by VT staff. Web sites work just like record labels: you know you've "arrived" when you first earn that most prestigious of awards: BANNED IN THE UK!
