Coffee is ready. Anyone care to join me? It is espresso this morning, as my coffee grinder just died. Pa
Hi,Pa, can I have a cup, too. It's so cold here as if summer never comes. I just got a message from a friend that tomorrow trip with parents and children from my daughter's class is cancelled due to bad forecast. Sad, but they're going on 3 day trip on Wednesday and the parents don't want anybody to get cold.
Hi Pa, be careful, this kind of thread will be deleted anytime.
Good morning Tanja. Sorry to hear it is cold. Does that mean overcast, cloudy, and dreary too? Days like that always depress me. In Padova, it appears to be a tad cooler than usual, but very fresh ,bright, sunny. In fact Tanja, we are enjoying our coffee on my balcony. No muffens to offer yet, usually I have some ready, but I was tinkering with my coffee grinder. Sorry. Maybe someone will bring them. So parents don't want their kids to get cold huh? Pa
Morning l_joo, as long as I get my morning coffee, and enjoy a peaceful chat, I'll be content. Help yourself to a cup, I tend to spill if I keep getting up and down. LOL. Pa
The kids will stay 3 days from Wednesday till friday in a nice place, just outside Ljubljana and they're eagerly waiting to have fun there. It will be a pity if somebody can't go. The path for tomorrows trip is wet and slippery and parents don't want anybody to get hurt.
As it's a long way to travel to your place and the weather is generaly cold here in mid-Europe, can you offer a french brandy with the coffee ?
This is a camping trip that the kids are going on Tanja? In the mountains? Ma Kettle and I were supposed to go to Ljubljana a couple of weeks ago, but had to change our plans last minute. I never realized your home town was so beautiful. Bled looks like a dream come true. Pa
Fortunately Frans, the magic of VT allows for every type of medicinal brandy known to man to always be available. What is your weather like today? Is it typical for this time of year? Perhaps you could stop at a bakery and pick up a specialty from your town to share with the rest of us. Just charge it to VT's entertainment account. I'm sure 'G' wouldn't mind. Pa
Sorry to hear that, Pa. You will come another time, don't you ? We're waiting for you. No, the kids won't go camping. It's to cold and wet. They're staying in a holiday home for children with astma in climate health resort Rakitna .
Just thought I'd drop by and say hi,I'm going soon to Liverpool to see the Tall Ship's so maybe a coffee before I go please Pa.
Good morning Margaret. I haven't seen you for awhile. Do you take sugar in your coffee. It is beside Frans. Help yourself. You are going to see the Tall Ships Margaret, are they arriving, or setting sail today? Describe please. Pa
Hi Pa..thanks for the coffee,I'll need it to gain energies. So tired today. After finishing working I'll drive back home and I'm not so happy thinking at all those trucks running fats next to my small car....:/
The sun has been a trap,I saw it this morning and didn't think to put an arm outside the window to see if it was cold....couldn't imagine...it's not fair...
Do you find this cold Paola? I love it, so brisk, and fresh. I find the humidity in Padova difficult at times. BTW, Paola works in Padova, and lives part time in Trieste, three hours away. (3 hrs ??) You take it easy on your way home to Trieste. Stay in the right hand lane, and don't worry about the trucks. Pa
Black no sugar thank you, the ships are arriving today, and will be in Liverpool all week-end.I will take some photo's of them with their sails up I hope.
Good morning John. What are Runeberg tarts? I've never been one to turn down food. Pass one over. You did wash your hands right?? If anyone finds the espresso too strong, I have water on to boil. Just add a touch to your cup. They serve that mixture in Italy, and call it Americano coffee. Doesn't quite cut it for me though. I'm off to purchase another grinder this afternoon. My budget will be short to heck though. Pa
Yes please Pa. Can you or Ma bring it up to me, please? I'm up at the top of the chimney (see my Home Page for picture, hehe). It's nice up here, but thirsty work, LOL.
Don't worry Pa...I hope they will be only 2 and something!!I can't drive without overtaking them....there are some going soooo slow and others that starts changing lines without even looking if any car arrives. Ussually it's me!!! :(
Well, it's been nice meeting you all,I have to go now, enjoy your coffee morning, byeeeeeeeeeeee
Safe journey Margaret. We'll watch for your photos in a travelogue. I couldn't get that page to load for me John for some reason. Strange. Geoff, I've asked Tanja to climb up with a cup for you. It is in a thermos, and one of John's tarts is in the bag. Heights are not my specialty. I repaired our chimney before we sold our home, and installed a new upper liner and rain cap, but didn't have any scaffolding like you do. I was quite nervous, as well as dumb. You are a wise man, I was too impatient (and running out of time). Oops, I fogot milk and sugar. Do you require it? Pa
the Runeberg - sweetTart....is baked of bun and breadcrumbs, punch and topped with applejam. I got this description from another members page John. Does that describe your tart sufficiently? Pa
G'day all. Guess it's too early for wine? Oh well then, I'm bringing it anyway :o) it's Friday, cold and I've had a big day at work. btw, I'm glad you've changed back into that tie John - suits you :o)
Saw the photos, they look great. I have had a real hankering for chocolate cake lately. The Duncan Hines Deep Chocolate, with the creamy frosting made from Crisco shortening. CdnJane would know what I mean. She is my receipe Ghuru. Pa
G'Day Anne. Wine tasters all agree that 10 am is the best time to taste and compare wines. So, going on that assumption, and on my time zone, we are 2 hours and 10 minutes late. Go for it. Pa
Ah cool Pa. I'll leave the calculation to you though haha :o)
welll,I don't think wine would be a good idea for me now!!LOl...And neither after..LOL Otherwise I would drive zigzag in the highway.....!!! May I have a capuccino and a good slice of cake of Alfio???
Vin Santo. Well said John. Ok Paola, coffee with scalded mooka coming up. I love the cream that Afio uses in his cake, Wonderful stuff. Non fattening too. Alfio is our friend who runs our favourite pasticceria in Padova. He makes wonderful 1000 layered cakes, only on Sunday, filled with a delicious cream. Paola had four pieces last time. I had one, and shared it with Ma. Pa
G'day Paola. Nice to meet you. Yes I agree, you'd better not drink and drive :o) There's stiff fines for that these days. I'll save you some for later :o) Have a good day. Cheers, Ann.
Pa!!!!!It's not true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I wasn't the only one that didn't finish budino, that Thursay and,I know, you even wanted to lap plate...LOL
Ohhh...thanks for the thought Ann!!!
