We are thinking of visiting Xiamen this coming October, where my wife's ancestors hailed from. How's the weather like at this time of the year? Can any locals or regulars let us know whether this is a good place for a family holiday (with kids)?
What are the must do's in Xiamen and and good and reasonably priced hotel here?

I plan to visit Xiamen and stay there for the whole month of March. I prefer to rent a small furnished apartment in a safe and suitable area to visitors, close to city center.

Any suggestion as to who should I approach, enabling me to safeguard an apartment before arriving?

Hi,
I will shortly be travelling to Xiamen on business for a week or so. I would like to know what would be interesting to see while staying there. I have an idea of stopping in Beijing on my way home and I would also like to see the great wall of China but I'm not sure if it is possible at all to manage in such a short time.

I would also like some tips on Chinese culture, what to be aware of being from Europe and if there are customs one should pay extra attention to.

I'm arriving at Xiamen airport at 8pm and would like to get to Fuzhou. What is the best way to get directly to Fuzhou? If I were to spend a night in Xiamen, would it make a difference?

I am in Xiamen this saturday (july 2nd) and need the cheapest way to get to the airport. Also I am arriving at the bus station very early on saturday.....Any suggetions on what should i do during the day? And also how much will a taxi cost to the airport? How long is the travel? And is there another way i can get to the airport that is cheaper? thanks!

I will be going to Xiamen end of this month (27 May 2005). From Xiamen I will like to take a bus to Chaozhou which is my parents hometown. Appreciate it if you could advise at which bus terminal and its frequencies i can take the to chaozhou.

I am planning to go Shantau in June, the original plan was taking flight to Hong Kong then proceed to Shantau by Bus. However, a friend of mine suggested to go Shantau Via xiamen which will be a shorter route. Thus, I plan to fly to xiamne , stay there for two days before going Shantau. CAn anyone advice would this be good way to go, and also can i get the bus service to Shantou from Xiamen City. please suggest me best hotel to stay, which is near to the station where the bus leaving for Shantau. Hi everyone, travel for the first time this month to Xiamen and don't like to be too far away from the shopping places, but love a nice hotel with good breakfast and swimming pool. Is the location near convention centre recommended, or too far from town. Did anyone hear about the Spagold Hongdu Park hotel and what about the Best Western?
Any advice would be apprechiated.

I'm from Singapore and I haven't been to Xiamen but I will be going to Shenzhen next week. Is it convenient to travel to Xiamen from Shenzhen? I will be going with 3 gal frens next week and we are all bags and accessories maniacs! Would like to find out if there's any must-go wholesale markets or good shopping areas in Xiamen which we can go for cheap and good buys. Look forward to your reply soon. Thankz a million :)

is there a bus from the international airport of xiamen to its local trains station ??

Is there a train route from Xiamen to ningbo or hangzhou ??

how long will the ride take , and how much will it cost??

and would there many dangers along the way ???
