Thinking to cross Zhuhai at these hours during weekends during a visit in Macau + Zhuhai.

9/5/08 (Friday) Macau - Zhuhai between 11am - 12pm

10/5/08 ( Saturday) Zhuhai - Macau between 8 - 9am
Macau - Zhuhai after 7pm

11/5/08 (Sunday) Zhuhai - Macau between 11am - 1pm

Any comment on the queue at the custom ?

i'm an Indonesian citizen, if I want to go to Zhuhai from Macao, and then go back to Macao, do i need visa for both countries? if yes, can it be visa upon arrival in Macao & Zhuhai? Thanx b4 :)

May I know if anyone has stayed here before? How is it in terms of cleanliness and location?

i plan to stay in Zhuhai and cross over Gong bei custom to Macau to save the accomodation cost during peak season from May 9-11, 2008.

Pls advise whether among the hotels below are within walking distance from Gong Bei Custom

any other hotel near Gong Bei ? i only know these few by judging from the address in Gong Bet district. is Popoko the nearest and cheapest ?

Dear Zhuhai VT,

I am planning a trip to Guiyang from Macau. I arrive at Macau Airport at 10.40 am on Friday and planning to depart from Zhuhai Airport at 4.40 pm. May i know whether there is enough time to clear the Gongbei Customs in order to reach Zhuhai Airport on Friday to pay for my departure air ticket and check-in for China Southern flight for Guiyang?

My family wants to celebrate our Chinese New Year 2008 in Zhuhai, starting from its eve. Can someone tell me:
(a) what food shops or restaurants (in particular those in Wanzai area) are open during the eve and the first few days of the CNY.
(b) what shopping centres are open.
(c) what is the crowd at the Gongbei Border Gate like; ie., is it very crowded and if so at what time?

My family, including a 5 year old, will be arriving at Zhuhai Airport at 11pm. We'll be catching a flight out of Macau Airport the next morning at 11am. So we'll need to be at MFM at 9am.

Planning to overnight in Zhuhai with 7am start from hotel. Is this a good idea?

Hi, during my last trip we visited Ocean Spring spa which was a wonderful experience. This time, we will be going during the Chinese Spring festival (February 2008). I need some information on:
(a) Food and shopping centre - are the food outlets at Wanchai open during the period especially during the 1st day of the Chinese Spring festival.
(b) is there any nearer spa where we can enjoy hotspring therapy.
(c) any good shopping centres to visit in Zhuhai.

I am an american, I will be visiting macau for several days, but want to spend a portion of my stay in zhuhai, can I just go to the border and get a visa or since its an sez do you even need a visa. I'll spend 2 or three days I also will be needing to cross back into macau during this period. I have looked at alot of sights but no one deals with a two or three day visit with going back and forth, again this would only be for Zhuhai no other cities...

Hi! Is it nice to visit the New Yuan Ming Palace in Zhuhai? I have visit the Yuan Ming Palace in Beijing but is it the same?

A friend just told me that since I'll be visiting Macau over a week-end with my kids and not interested in gambling, then it would be wise to stay in accommodation in Zhuhai, as it's much cheaper and walk across back into Macau for the day to visit.Is this doable with 4 relatively young kids? If so, what are the nearest 4-5 star hotels at the Zhuhai boder? Can we literally walk across or do we need to take the bus in to Macau?

I'll be in Shenzhen for a business trip and thinking about spending one weekends in Zhuhai I heard there are frequent buses/ferry from Shenzhen to Zhuhai. I'll be staying in Futian district in shenzhen & Gongbei District in Zhuhai. Should i go by land or sea? By land, i'll probably skip the bus and take a taxi. Any idea how long each option will take, from door to door? Thanks!


Also, where is the famous lotus street and how "safe" is it? I'll be travelling alone. It is a no no for tourist to venture out alone at lotus street, especially after dark? I am aware of pickpockets. I'm not looking specifically to buy something, just window shopping, grap some food, etc.

i am planning to go to other cities besides Macau and Zhuhai, like Dongguan and Shenzhen. Any advise on which mode of transportation i should use ? Is there a ferry to Shenzhen ? or a Bus/ferry to dongguan, more specifically Cheong Ping ?

In my excitement to travel to Zhuhai, I've forgotten to ask whether shopping malls and eateries be opened during this grand festive period.I know millions of Chinese would be going home and would there still be service for the travellers?
Would VT members in Zhuhai enlighten me concerning the above?
