Hey guys! Please forgive my ignorance about this- but I was considering living in Japan for a couple of years, and I understand that it is very difficult. I am a dietitian, and I was born in Japan, IN Misawa- and I want to work inside the hospital on base. I just think it'd be neat to work where I was born, and get to know Japan a little bit.

For residents, what do I need to know about trying to attain residency? For military if there are any, are there any requirements to work on base? Thank you! Any input is valued, even if it destroys my dream haha best to be informed.

Hi! I'm in the US Navy, stationed up here in Misawa, and my wife's paperwork for command sponsorship (indefinite stay permission) has been lost and resubmitting it will take longer than she has left on her 90-day stay limit, because she doesn't have a working/student visa. We're probably going to have to fly her to Korea and back to restart her stay-clock, which we are both a little terrified of, so we were wondering how long she needs to stay in Korea for it to reset her time in Japan.

To sum up: How long does someone need to leave Japan for, in order to reset their no-visa stay-time?

Any assistant will be greatly appreciated!!!

This location seems to come highly recommended; I just wanted to make sure of its location to Misawa. It is about 3 hours by train to there depending upon departure time? That is what I have been told, just wondering. Thank you for your time!

Hey- I am going to be visiting Japan next year with my friend and want to visit Misawa; can anyone suggest fun things to do/see in Misawa?

This may seem a weird question, but my friend really wants to experience hot springs and I've heard there are many in Aomori- are there any in Misawa or close by? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you!

Does anyone have a copy of USARJ Pamphlet 190-10 (Driving in Japan) that they can mail to me. Will be glad to pay for postage and such. Will be traveling to Japan in late July and wanting to rent a van from MWR, and understand that I need a 4EJ drivers license and must take a written test to obtain one. Just wanted to refresh myself in advance with the driving rules.
Thanks.

I'm living in Florida, currently, but will be flying out of ATL to travel to Misawa in October/November. I've read that the "best" way to get there is a flight into Narita, a bus to Haneda, and then a flight from Haneda into Misawa. Is this truly the best way to get there? I don't want a tedious, tiring trip.

Thanks in advance!
