I would be visiting Japan in end Oct. One of the things we would be doing is to take the shinkansen from Osaka to Tokyo. In this respect, can anyone advise me how do I go about buying a tix in Osaka and what are the things do I need to take note?

Hi I will be visiting Osaka for a business trip so only my evenings are available to sight see Osaka. Any good suggestions where I can Osaka night life (not clubbing type as I still have to meet business associates in the day)?

I'm interested to see the Jidai festival in Kyoto this October. I would imagine that all hotels there would be either fully booked or impose higher room rates. Therefore I was wondering if Osaka would be a cheaper and practical alternative, considering the travel time and cost between the 2 places?

Me n my fren plan to be in Kinki area from 17th Sept till 24th Sept.
We will cover osaka, kyoto (and arayashima), nara, kobe (arima onsen, rokkusan), himeji.

However, we are bit concern about the H1N1 condition at Japan at this moment.
We try to search online for information yet we cant find any.
H1n1 Travel advisory has been put up in my country whereby Osaka is one of the list.

Can anyone update me with the link where i can have the most update infor on h1n1?

In addition, i would lik eto have the link on typhoon prediction as well.

I am staying in Tokoname for the summer, with a Japanese family, whom I have not met.
I have several questions please.

1, What is considered to be the most appropriate present to bring a man and his wife ?(age unknown)

2. If I am able to travel from Tokoname for 2-3 days during the summer, where is the best place to go? Fairly nearby, Onsens? Outdoor Onsens? Art Museums,etc. I have previously been to Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo.

3. Are there any outside Onsens in/near Tokoname?

4. Is Tokoname just the ceramic part, or is it a bigger town?

5. What sort of local food might people eat on an everyday basis ?

6. Do Japanese people usually have ovens in their kitchens, or gas rings only?

I wish to bring some guests to Nara. We will be coming from Mozu- Umekita Station. What would your best suggestion be? Thank You guys.

My very good friend and his wife will be traveling to Japan, they will start there trip in Japan travel in Osaka heading to Tokyo. Are there any recommendable clean, cheap, centrally located hostels to these places. Neither of us have ever visited Japan....They are now in Malaysia and once they land Japan expenses, food, accommodation will tripple or double the prices which they are aware, but if you have any suggestion as for their budget is very narrow it would be greatly appreciated. They are also interested in any public spring baths, are there any in Osaka which are for the public? There are young married couple, so they are use to traveling..Thank you folks for your help!

How do I get, how much & what are the benefits?

Are there any lockers or area where I can store my luggage for a few hours around the Osaka station?

Hi, my husband and I are going to osaka this february, we plan to stay there for 3 nights and then go to kyoto for 3 night and then to tokyo for 4 night and go back again to osaka for a day for our flight home.

My question is, what will be the cheapest and most practical way (what train line in osaka) to go to kyoto and from kyoto to tokyo and then back again to osaka.

And also, I plan to book Uen guesthouse in osaka , Backpacker's hostel K's house in kyoto and Hotel Vista Kamata in Tokyo. Does anyone here knows if these hostels are really near the train station.

I will be arriving in Osaka in the morning from a ferry-Busan. I am thinking of getting the seisshun 18 kippu ticket since I am in a shoestring budget.

Anyone knows a detailed timetable of how to get from OSAKA to TOKYO using seisshun 18 kippu?
It will be better if its a night train but day train is fine as well.

OK. Here's the deal: My friends and I are thinking of going to Japan in the first half of January. All of us (About 8? It's not really decided yet.) are 17 and, needless to say, we need to stretch our money. Next thing, we have NO idea where to start with anything at all. All we know is that we want to start with Osaka and then work our way up to Tokyo as our last destination before flying back from there.

So... A bunch of questions I have (for now):

#1. Lodging: Is there like a place which offers apartments that can accommodate all of us? As cheap as possible and as convenient as possible?

#2. Transportation: What kind of transportation is best for moving around Osaka (and maybe the neighboring regions); bicycles? Train? Something else?

#3. Duration: How long on average do we need to see the general attractions in Osaka? We'd like to see both the modern (trendy places), traditional (shrines <- a must! xD) and tourist-y stuff. Maybe some recommendations?

#4. Food: Where do we start?! Japan is like a food haven and from what I've read, Osaka is considered one of the better food places in Japan.

Okies. I think I'll end with this first. There's so many things that we don't know and need to know so help of any kind would be absolutely useful. Thanks! =D

How much is the taxi fare from Kansai Airport to Rihga Hotel in Osaka?

Hi, will be going in Osaka on the last week of October to early Nov. Can i know what will the weather estimated be then? Should i bring just a windbreaker or a slightly thicker jacket?

I really would like to see Sting on December 20th at the Osaka Festival Hall, but all the sites that the tickets are sold through are in Japanese and/or only ship to individuals with Japanese addresses/cell phones etc. Is there anyway I can purchase a ticket? I'm currently living in South Korea at the moment, and would kill to see Sting again. So any advice would be apperciated!

Also where can we eat, where locals go, no fancy foreigner restaurant, we do not like tourist traps....

I'd be going to Osaka next month, and am looking for a cheap hotel /ryokan to stay in (my budget is somewhere between 3000 yen to 5000 yen / night). I'm a solo traveller so I'm not looking to blow a big amount on accommodation. Can anyone here recommend a good place? If it's located near a subway, that'd be good too.

Hi, I am planning a trip to Osaka Universal Studios on Oct 3rd. Will it be easy for me to get tickets at the booth on that day itself? I tried to purchase the tickets via the web but it's in Jap language. Any advise out there?

Hello I am trying to look for a flight to Thailand from Osaka KIX to leave around September 11, 2008. The problem is that I have never booked a flight from Japan to another Asia country before so I am not sure where to look. I was there in June and I have a picture of a building in the park and I don't know the name of it - it is a red/brown brick building - it has a semi circle driveway in the front - it is three story's on each side and four story's in the middle where I assume the enterance is. It has on the ---[]--- two turrets sticking out from the centre piece. ANY help would be appreciated
