Mexico City Need a Mexcio City Guide!
Posted: Wed January 30, 2008 07:11 PM UTC
Seeking the services of a local guide to take my 12 year old son and I around this fascinating city (and area) to show us more than just the usual tourist haunts. Of course I will pay well for your time and cover all expenses such as taxis,lunches/dinners/shows etc. We enjoy history, architecture, interesting restaurants (pricey and otherwise) and out of the ordinary experiences. We will be staying March 17th through 24th at either the Four Seasons or Marriot hotel. You must speak fluent Spanish and LOVE this city! If you can recommend anyone please do pass this request on. Many thanks! Reply via email to trevortoronto (at) yahoo.com thanks!

Mexico City Getting to airport for early AM flight
Posted: Sun January 27, 2008 09:58 PM UTC
I'm trying to plan an itinerary, so help is appreciated. With an 8AM departure, we would need to be at Mexico City airport by 6AM. Is there any way to do that by night bus directly from either Puebla or Oaxaca? (I have not found an English timetable.) Otherwise, I'll plan to go back to DF for a night or two..... I assume transportation can be arranged easily from there. GRACIAS (the only Spanish I know)

Mexico City Vegetarian Options?
Posted: Sat January 26, 2008 06:25 PM UTC
We will be travelling in early February to Mexico City and possibly Oaxaca and or Puebla. We want only meatless meals- (some fish OK). Must we avoid salads/fruit, even in restaurants? That will make things much more difficult. We do not need vegan or strictly vegetarian restaurants- just some places with choices. THANKS!

Mexico City Two days in Mexico City
Posted: Fri January 25, 2008 01:43 PM UTC
OK, so I'm being lazy and I admit it. I know there are hundreds of posts here on what to see and do. There in lies the problem.

We will be coming back from a Rotary work effort in Xicotepec and will be tired.

It's our first time there. What should we see and do in a few days that would be really easy and worth what effort we have remaining?

We typically avoid the "touristy" places, but we will have just left the real Mexico.

Mexico City Special historic / traditional Mexican hotel in safe central area Mexico City?
Posted: Sun January 6, 2008 10:47 PM UTC
Hi everyone

The subject probably sums it up! I'm trawling through the web looking at hotels in Mexico City, trying to find something that's special, historical / traditional Mexican, central and in a nice safe area, near restaurants and tourist interest spots....but I'm not having any luck so far.

Everything seems to be either far too expensive / chains (which we try to avoid) / very mordern or very business oriented.

Any tips would be gratefully received!

Posted: Wed December 19, 2007 09:32 PM UTC
Hi. I am heading to Mexico city with my boyfriend soon, and I was looking for suggestions on the proper clothes to pack. I imagine we will be wandering around the city by day and going out a lot to resteraunts and bars. We may even do some dancing. We may have received an invitation to someone's house for new year's eve, but I want to be prepared for anything (including a celebration in a bar/club). Please advise how casual/dressy/conservative the dress code is for bars/clubs in Df. Thank you.

Mexico City Accommodation and Transporation inquiry
Posted: Thu October 18, 2007 07:57 PM UTC
hi there

i am thinking to fly to mexico city for a couple of days, perhaps one week, and got some questions:

i want to visit a couple of places, so to be within a short distance of them; Polance, Reforma, Zocalo, Condesa?? or Chapultepec??

- is there a metro line from Mexico City Airport to downtown? otherwise, how much does it cost by taxi?
- i'm looking to stay in a budget hotel/hostel, any recommendation? bearing in mind safety issues?
- what are the areas to avoid for a woman to hang around?

cheers, amani:^)

Hello there,
We are travelling to Mexico city soon from europe.
On the flight Europe -> Mexico city were allowed to bring 46kg per person. Once in mexico were first gonna visit Acapulco for a week but the flight Mexico city -> Acapulco only allows us to bring 20kg per person.
I heard that there are lockers at the aiport so my quesions are:
- About how much do these cost for a week?
- Is it safe?
- Anybody got some experience with it or some other idea for storage of luggage?

Thanks

Mexico City Mexico City visit??
Posted: Tue October 2, 2007 02:08 PM UTC
Hi! I am attending a conference in Cancun the second week of November and am contemplating taking Mexicana Airlines (LAX-CUN) and stopping in Mexico City on the return trip for a few days' visit.

I would appreciate advice on whether it is best to fly Mexicana and if it will be safe for a single, not so young woman travelling alone to visit Mexico City?

Cheers :-)
