Hi, I've recently moved here to Yuzhno to work as full-time expat and would like to meet some people to help improve my non-existant Russian and experience local life on Sakhalin. Any suggestions most welcome...you might even learn some more English out of it, well the Scottish version anyway!!

Does anyone know where I can find street maps of Sakhalin? I'm going to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on business and I want to explore the city and the area. I would really appreciate any street map links, or if you have one a scanned image would be nice.

I am needing information regarding obtaining housing for 3 weeks in July 2004-August 2004 in the Yuzhno or Kholmsk area for about 4 families (age 14-65). We will be traveling as a music group from Hawaii.

Hello all.
I'm planning to travel in SAkhalin's Islands, for 2-3 weeks. I'm arriving in Vladivostok mid-december, and know nothing about Russia and russians, and how to get there.. I don't really feel lost anywhere, but any topics would help much. Ferries, nices and quiet cities to see, and how to get in China after mt visit.
