Bus service to Ajijic/Guadalajara Posted: Fri July 13, 2007 05:49 PM UTC
Does anyone have any information regarding bus service from Mazatlan to Ajijic/Guadalajara? I would prefer not to have to go into Guadalajara at all, so was wondering if it's at all possible to get off the bus at one of the smaller towns outside the city, and take a cab or local bus to Ajijic?
If anyone can help with prices, schedules, trip length, etc, I would greatly appreciate it....thanks! I tried looking at the ETN website, but it's all in Spanish so I'm a bit lost!
Thanks again for any info!

How is scuba diving Posted: Mon March 5, 2007 12:45 AM UTC
My wife and I are planning a trip to Mexico and are undecided between Mazatlan or Cozumel. Our main interest is in doing some scuba diving and are interested in anyone scuba diving in Mazatlan and/or Cozumel and how they may stack up against each other. I have found much more on the web for scuba in Cozumel but not much for Mazaltan. Can someone give me any feedback they might have on this.
Than,\ks, Joe

Suite Real at Mazatlan Sea Garden Posted: Fri February 23, 2007 04:48 PM UTC
Has anyone stayed in a "suite real" at the Mayan Sea Garden in Mazatlan? We have a timeshare with Mayan Palace and have two extra weeks in Mazatlan at the Sea Garden but are very wary of the rooms in this resort as we have read many negative reviews about the units. Our unit is a 2 bedroom 1 bath called a suite real. We might be interested in going as we love Mazatlan if the unit is at least decent. Thanks!

Hot Air Balloon Rides Posted: Thu February 1, 2007 06:12 AM UTC
My wife to be and I will be honeymooning in Mazatlan in early June, 2007. I am interested in surprising her with a hot air balloon ride, and possibly some other outdoor adventure activities. Can anyone put me in touch with a company or person who offers hot air ballooning, it is a life long dream of hers and I would love to be able to fullfill it.
Thank you,
Mike

what's wrong with mazatlan? Posted: Sat January 27, 2007 10:16 PM UTC
I've been in Mazatlan many times in my life; I go there almost twice a year and I really love it. Now at school I have a marketing project and I decided to market Mazatlan as the best beach destination in Mexico to visit, but I would like to know why do people prefer to go to Cozumel or Cancun instead of Mazatlan. If you had bad experiences at Mazatlan that you would like to share, don't doubt to write back! all kind of comments are welcome, and if they are bad, it would be better for me. Just let me know...What is wrong with Mazatlan?

Simple wedding in Maz....Know of a planner/coordinator? Posted: Tue January 2, 2007 11:50 PM UTC
Hi there,
We are getting married in Maz in May 2006. We already have our reservations at a timeshare at Costa De Oro where we've stayed many times. We have approximately 30 friends/family members coming down with us. We are looking for a wedding planner/coordinator if anybody knows one? Or any other ideas on where/how to have a very simple, casual, beach wedding. Most things I find so far online are wedding packages where you have to be staying at that particular resort. There is very little actual information as to wedding packages etc. and we have gotten little to no response online from several hotel planners. I saw one person's wedding album online where they got married at a casual beachside restaurant that we love 'Chilis Pepper" and that would work for us also, but no idea how to go about planning it.....We are open to ANY ideas. Names or numbers we could contact of planners? Hellllp! :)
Thanks in advance!

Is there a boat from Mazatlan to Cabo San Lucas?? Posted: Thu December 28, 2006 09:46 PM UTC
Is there only a ferry that goes to La Paz? What is the best way to get from Mazatlan to Cabo San Lucas? I want to visit both places but don't want to take a plane from Mazatlan to Cabo. How long does this trip take and how much does the trip cost?

We love drinking and are a blast to hang out with. We seem to have much more fun with others than just hanging by ourselves. Well email us if this sounds fun! Not looking for something freaky just new friends!

Off-the-beaten-path Accommodations and activities? Posted: Mon December 4, 2006 07:34 PM UTC
Hi!
My boyfriend and I are coming to Mazatlan in January. We want part of the trip to be relaxing on the beach and snorkling and part seeing "real" Mexico.
We'd rather stay in a less-touristy area--perhaps outside of Mazatlan? Are there any accommodations that might be more isolated with hut-style rooms rather than high-rise mega-resort style? Any small towns nearby that might be better for us?
What off-the-beaten-path day trips can you recommend?
Thanks!

Mazatlan Sept. 1, 2006 thru Sept. 3, 2006 Posted: Fri July 21, 2006 12:13 AM UTC
I plan on visiting Mazatlan for these 3 days.
How is the weather down here at this time?
I booked our stay at the emerald bay resort, hoping to pop the big question to my girl. I didn't realize it was so humid down there and then i heard its rainy that time of the year.
Anyone local here that can give me an idea of what i should expect while down there?
I checked the weather for the past 10 years during this time. Always seems like it rains a little at night and then says overcast and cloudy during the day.
Is it still beautiful down there with the overcast?
Is it really HOT? I'm from southern Cal so this is the weather i'm use to.
any help what to expect would greatly be appreciated.
thanks.

small hotel with kitchenette? Posted: Thu March 23, 2006 10:47 PM UTC
Hi, we are 3 couples looking for either a 3 bedroom 3 bath villa/condo or a small hotel on the beach which has kitchenettes. We usually go to PV but want to try Mazatlan for January 2007. Does anyone have any suggestions? We like to be able to make our own coffee in the morning and sometimes breakfast or lunch. also don't like having to scramble for beach or pool chairs in the larger resorts. I have tried looking in VRBO, Great Rentals, etc. but haven't been able to find what we are looking for.

Recommend a resort?? Posted: Mon February 6, 2006 01:36 AM UTC
My husband and I are middle age yet enjoy an active and very busy lifestyle. We are looking for a beachfront, all inclusive resort on Mexico's west coast (away from the summer threat of hurricanes!) that seems to be popular with North American tourists. I'm sorry if this sounds prejudiced, but we have been to so many popularly named resort-chains that attract couples and families from Europe, and unfortunately, the European guests are loud, rude, and generally in everyone's face. Breezes in Curacao was exactly the kind of place we enjoyed - guests were from the States and Canada. So, if anyone can offer ideas of AI resorts, we'd sure like to hear them. Thanks.

what's mazatlan like in february, especially the beach and ocean? Posted: Wed January 25, 2006 07:52 PM UTC
Hey, first post here. My husband and I are considering going to Mazatlan in a few weeks, thus I'm hoping for a speedy reply. I really just want to know if we should plan on swimming in the ocean very much, what the weather is like, and is the ocean pretty cold, but bearable, or decently warm? thanks a lot!

I'm staying at the Mayan Sea Garden at the end of March. I wanted to know a little about the resort. I stayed at El Cid a couple of years ago and dont recall seeing the Mayan Sea Garden. I'm assuming that is is north of El Cid. Also if their are any Seafood restaurants nearby. Thanks
