We are going to Playa Del Carmen October 1-6th and I checked the weather and it says showers:(

Could someone tell me what kind of weather to expect?
If it will rain, does it rain the whole day or just couple hours or at all ?

Also, does anyone know good restaurants in Playa that are authentic Mexican food, not commercialized, possibly off the main tourist routes?

My wife and I are travelling with our two daughters (2 1/2 and 3 months) to Playa in November. We are staying at a condo and not a resort. Does anyone have recommendations for kid friendly activities? Anyone had any luck with babysitters that are not resort based?

Our family is going to visit Playa del Carmen in December for two weeks.
Our plan is to rent a car for 5 days. Is it safe to drive there? We two children so we thing it is easier to travel by car with them.
Is it easy to find the mayan ruins etc.?

We are staying at the Riu palace Mexico, any comments on the hotel?

I've finally set my mind to go to Playa del Carmen this first week of September but I was told that it was not ideal because of the huricane season...can anyone tell me what the weather is really like early September ? Is it showers every now and again but mostly sunny or will we have to stay inside all day because of wind/storms....?
Also, can anyone comment on hotel RIU Yucatan...

We have traveled to Playa on a number of occasions, mostly staying at Royal Hideaway and, last yearm at Secrets Capri (RH was closed). We will be returning to Secrets in Feb but would like to split the trip to 4 or 5 days there and perhaps 3 or 4 days in one of the upscale boutique hotels in town.
Any suggestions????

I´ve just booked 17 days Playa del Carmen in November in the hotel Riu Tequila.
This will be my first time in Mexico.
Also included is a short round trip for 4 days to Chichen Itza, Coba, Merida.
I will also make some day trips to Cozumel for example.
The rest of the time I will spend for diving in the sea and the cenotes.
Is it possible to go jogging in Playa or to go in and around Playa by bicycle.
Were can I found more information in the internet about Playa del Carmen ?
Which are the best websites ?

Since many people say it is safer to drink bottled water rather than tap water, what about having ice cubes in coctails? Is that not safe?

I have never been to this side of Mexico before and was planning a trip to Playa del Carmen this January with some friends. What is the weather like during that time? Also, is the water fairly warm as well? Thanks!

I have always stayed at a camptel near Playa named Kaluimm. It is now closed down because a huge resort moved in a took its place. I wish to return to Playa over Christmas and wish to say at a smaller all inclusive resort near Playa. I love peace and quiet and no jet ski. Does a place like this exist in and near PLaya? I know there are nice places near Tulum but my older children would like to near a town. Playa is a nice city and farily safe. I want to be on the beach not a walk across the street. Can anyone help me? I am budget minded so cannot say in a five star hotel. Something reasonable. I know that's a joke around Christmas but hope springs eternal.

We want to get married in PDC next year but NOT at an AI resort. Does anyone know of any good wedding planners, or locations for ceremony or reception?

I'm looking for a beach front hotel that is not AI - we want to get married in PDC so would like something a little nicer and preferably with a decent number of rooms so all our guests can stay at the same hotel. We have never been to PDC before but would like to stay within walking distance of shops/restaurants/bars. Thanks!!

My husband and I both in our 50's are going to SCRC 8/27 t0 9/03. We so need R and R, and we are looking forward to it. We think we picked the right place, for our needs. I read that the rooms are great and offer alot of ammenities such as bathrobes, slippers, nice body lotion, shampoo and incense. We are hoping that the insence is what we think it is for. We hope that we don't offend anyone but we hope to get a little bit for the week we are there. Has anyone out there, had experience in percuring smoke? We would appreciate any info that you may help us get some, without leaving the resort or getting ourselves or anyone in trouble. We know alot of people get upset, we just want to have a nice relaxing time in privacy in our bedroom.

I am asking for a friend at work. Does anyone have information on Fishermans Village in Playa del Carmen? Good, Bad, Indifferent? He is traveling there in August and cannot find information about this place. Evidently it is a time share / resort. I appreciate any information you can pass along.

has anyone every driven this before? We will be down in PDC at the end of June and are renting a car for one day to drive to Chichen Itza. My husband is ok to drive in Mexico as he is a native and we travel to his town all the time. But what road should we take? I saw a map and there looks like only one main highway you can take but you have to go back up towards cancun?? Please help? Thanks!

Could anyone tell me if they have visited the water park in cancun .We will be visiting in october and will be staying in playacar.We were looking at the reviews for the water park and have been slightly put off by some comments.
We will be a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids aged 7 and 4 ).Would this be any good for their ages and what is the lazy river ?

My husband & i will be PDC end of June and wanted to go out one night and have some good lobster. I have been reading some of the restaurant tips but just found one in particular. We are both hispanic and really enjoy more of an authentic restaurant rather then a franchise. Does anyone know of a good place to find good lobster and not as pricey as something you would find on 5th street? Thanks!!

Planning on going to PDC on the 18th June for a wk. What is the weather going to be like. Rainy season with rain every day or showers daily. also want to do a couple of trips,is it better to book it once there or book on-line.
Also 2 females travelling on their own. Safe to do so?

My husband and I will be going to PDC at the end of June and we have traveled enough to do things on our own. We wanted to go to Chichen Itza but don't want to go with a tour guide. Can you take a bus there ? What would be the best way and Air Conditioned way to go? I know the drive is like 2 hours or so and we wanted to go pretty early, before the tourist. What would be the best way to do this? please help. Also... how about getting to Tulum and Xel-Ha? Can you also take a bus? We are staying at The Reef Playacar. Not sure what side of PLaya del Carmen this is at. Any suggestions would help. Thanks a bunch!

Hi we are trying to rent a car at or near the dock in playa so we can make a day trip from Cozumel. Can any one tell us what car rental company operates in the playacar palace. If im not mistaken the playacar palace is the old continental plaza playacar. Anyway Im looking for a company like budget or hertz or avis etc. that I can book online. Some of these companies All of these companies have locations in playa del carmen however none of them are descriptive enough for me to figure out where they are. TRhanks for your help
