never been to mexico before. planning to be at quintana roo early 2008. any advice? things to watch out for? is it o.k. to rent a car? thanks

My husband and I are wanting a studio, one or two bedroom apartment any where from Puerto Morelos to Tulum the month of February 2007 . do you know of a place with a great beach and cheap rent, or how I can go about finding information for my needs. Thank You.
