Tulum Transport in Tulum
Posted: Fri October 2, 2009 04:05 PM UTC
I'm going to be in the Tulum area for several weeks, and I'd like an opinion on transport options. Rather than renting a car for the whole period, is it realistic to get around by taxi or collectivo? I speak reasonable Spanish.
There is a possibility I might be able to borrow a car privately, but I have no idea what the insurance situation might be. Any advice? My own car insurance will definitely not cover me.

Tulum Contacting Los Arrecifes
Posted: Wed June 3, 2009 09:28 AM UTC
Hello,
Does anyone know the best way to contact Cabanas Los Arrecifes?
I've tried the website and it doesn't seem like the reservation request went through. And neither of the telephone numbers seem to ever lead to a real live person. Is there an email address anyone knows about? Or should my boyfriend and I just simply keep calling?

Thanks!

Tulum Amazing restaurant needed!
Posted: Tue April 14, 2009 07:16 PM UTC
Hi there!

We just booked a very quick (5 nights) break in Tulum. We are staying at an All Inclusive.
After i booked I started looking into the area, and realised that there is so much to do and see.
I am kind of annoyed now that we choose an AI (although we do still have some time to cancel)
Anyway we will be celebrating our anniversary and want to go off resort for a special dinner. Obviously I have been researching but there are sooo many options.
Anyone care to share an experience or idea?

Thanks soooo much!

Tulum Mormon Guides at Tulum Ruins?
Posted: Wed July 9, 2008 07:28 PM UTC
We will be one day visitors at the end of August, 2008. We'll be on a cruise which gets off at Calica (Playa del Carmen). We'd love to visit Tulum ruins, and are thinking of renting a car, seeing the ruins with a guide, then doing a bit of beach time.

We're Mormon, and we've heard there are a few Mormon tour guides available. Anyone have any contact information at all, or any advice on how to get one of these guys?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
We will be arriving to Cancun airport late at night 22.00 and we would like to go directly to Tulum, I guess there are no more buses on that hour so I am looking for some reliable not expensive company providing some kind of shuttle service or car service to Tulum at that hour, also how much doe's the airport taxi charge?
Thanks

Tulum Re: Car Rental Cancun to Tulum
Posted: Fri June 13, 2008 06:17 PM UTC
I am planning to rent a car to drive from Cancun Airport to Tulum. I have a $82/week quote for an economy car from Herts. I have not driven in that part of Mexico and I would like to know how is the driving between Cancun and Tulum? How long does it take? Are he rental cars reliable? Do I need insurance? I am staying at Cabanas La Luna in Tulum and I would like to know how are the beaches? is the water clear? I heard that in cancun there is lots of weeds?

Gracias

Thanks

Tulum Tulum with children
Posted: Sun December 30, 2007 11:47 PM UTC
We are looking at a trip to Tulum some time in March 2008 with our two children ages 6 and 18months We've not done much traveling as a family and we'd like some advise about where to stay on the beach. Are there any places available with kitchens that aren't too expensive? If not in Tulum are there other places in the region that you'd recommend? Thanks!

Tulum Tulum
Posted: Tue September 4, 2007 12:52 AM UTC
I am finalzing my trip details and would love some opinions. I am planning a trip with my boyfriend for the 1st week in December to Tulum and possibly Majahual . I am thinking of staying at Ana Y Joses or Cabanas la Conchita if it is available. I've read that some of the stretches of beach are nicer than others in the Tulum area(such as Las Ranitas and Paraiso area). How does Ana Y Joses or la Conchita compare? Is there really much of a noticeable difference?
What are the best ocean snorkelling options in Tulum area?
Is there a snorkelling tour company one would recommend?
Is there an area right from the beach you can get good snorkelling?

Also, I was thinking of doing about 3 nights at Mayan Beach Gardens around Majahual. Is this area worth a visit? I've read the beaches are not as great as Tulum, but the snorkelling off the beach is great. I would like to visit the Sian Biosphere and possibly lake Bacalar. I know it will be a long drive back to the airport in Cancun, so I'm deciding if I should add this area to my trip.

Thanks

Tulum transportation from Akumal

My three children and I are vacationing in Akumal next week. I plan on getting us to Tulum but hadn't wanted to mess with renting a car. What options are there besides the resort packages that would safely get my kids and me back and forth?

I got some carzy cheap auto rental rates from Travel-Center.com like $20/day and $100 /week. I am sure these are not top-of-the-line vehicles, and that is ok as long as they continue to run. Can anyone comment? -John

Tulum WHAT'S GOING ON WITH WEATHER IN TULUM?!
Posted: Tue December 19, 2006 03:31 AM UTC
Hi Quintana Roo travelers!

We are voyaging to the east coast of Mexico for Christmas for the first time (we usually always go Zihua/Pacific coast)

I have been watcching the weather the past few days and all I see is RAIN RAIN RAIN. It's at 65-85% chance with thunderstroms the whole Xmas week. I am talking ten whole days!

Does anyone have experience with this over Christmas? Are we looking at being rained out the whole time? What's going on and why did I not know this before I booked this expensive trip? Thanks in advance for any help.
