Zihuatanejo Zihuatanejo
Posted: Thu November 15, 2007 12:27 AM UTC
Someone brought my attention to Zihuatanejo while discussing places we had rented
for 3-4 months in Mexico.. I am looking for a relatively inexpensive apartment or small house with 2 bedrooms, fully furnished for 2009 (Jan. Feb.Mar.April) I do not want to pay more than $500.00 per month. I am retired with only a small pension...I love to visit the markets and cook my own meals..also enjoy practicing my spanish with the locals...No need for a lot of entertainment.
Am I dreaming ? If so, perhaps there might be an alternate location that would suit my budget. Anyone with info would be much appreciated...

Zihuatanejo Is there a safe and cheap bus from Mexico City to Zihuatanejo ?
Posted: Thu November 1, 2007 02:07 AM UTC
I was wondering if there is such a thing as safe cheap bus transportation from mexico city to zihuatanejo? From what I have seen the first class buses are like $400 US dollars. If anyone knows if there is a cheaper bus line that runs that is safe I would love to hear aobut it. And if you have any Idea as to the schedule is or how to obtain it that would be nice as well.

Thank you soooo much!

Hi!

Any suggestions about snorkling in Zihuatanejo? I saw a suggestion online about off of las Gatas Beach. Is it safe to do just by yourself? Where to go?
Thanks!

Zihuatanejo Is Playa Gatas a good choice for just one day in Zihua?
Posted: Sun September 17, 2006 09:06 PM UTC
I am arriving by cruise ship for one day on 9Oct with my family, 6 adults and 4 children. We want to have some sun and fun, but maybe experience a little shopping. I keep hearing Playa Las Gatas is the place to go and good for the kids (ages 6-10). Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you,

David

Zihuatanejo Playa La Ropa or Playa La Madera
Posted: Wed August 3, 2005 04:12 AM UTC
My husband and I are planning to spend a week in Zihuatanejo next Feb/Mar, and are trying to decide whether we should stay in La Ropa or La Madera. We are looking for a quiet peaceful area with nice sandy white beaches, palm trees, a few palapa bars/restaurants, and not too many people. Our budget will allow us between $50-$100 per night for a beachfront bungalow/condo/apartment with an ocean view.

We were concerned that La Ropa might be too far to walk back to from the downtown area at night, or even during the day. Do busses run between the two beaches at night, are taxis affordable?

We had checked out Bungalows Pacificos website, and it seemed fairly nice and within the budget (only just!). Has anyone stayed there? Any reviews or info on the place? Any help and advice on accommodations, etc would be greatly appreciated as this will be our first visit to this part of Mexico, and we would like it to be a fun and positive visit!

Please email me with any info, advice, etc at mexicruiser@VTmail.com

Thanks in advance.

Zihuatanejo Zijuatenejo advice
Posted: Sun January 30, 2005 06:13 PM UTC
A friend and I are traveling to Zihuatenejo mid April and are looking a unique hotel that is reasonably priced. We're looking for something that has some personality, is on or near a good beach and is located close to downtown Zihuatenejo. I know that's quite vague, but we're looking to be in a spot that doesn't feel so 'touristy' and experience the culture as much as possible. I welcome any other tips on nightlife, restaurants, & must do activities.

Thanks!

Zihuatanejo hotels/resorts in ixtapa/zihuatenejo area
Posted: Sun December 26, 2004 09:38 PM UTC
hi, everyone --

thanks for the answers to my previous Qs. i appreciate it.

my friends and i have settled on going to the ixtapa/zihuatenejo area. now we are debating various resorts that i can get thru my time-share weeks (the less said about THAT, the better!).

can anyone compare any of all of the following resorts, especially as to niceness of accommodations, niceness of beach? all are in ixtapa, except the villa vera puerto mio.

-- villa vera puerto mio (in zihuatenejo)
-- RHC/park royal villas
-- sun club/intercontinental plaza ixtapa (maybe now
or formerly under name of costa real ixtapa?)
-- pacifica master sands
-- pacifica golf
-- pacifica sands
-- ocean imperial club (also known as radisson resort)
-- riviera beach resort and spa

thanks very much -- susie margaret

Zihuatanejo from ixtapa to zihuatenejo
Posted: Thu November 25, 2004 04:07 AM UTC
hi --

i belong to a time-share assn (the less said about THAT, the better!), and the only member resorts in the ixtapa-zihuatenjo area are in ixtapa.

if i get a place in one of these resorts, how far is it from ixtapa to zihuatenejo (in time, not distance)? is there a local bus that goes from one to the other? how much is it? is it regular? how late does it run? is it a hassle to get to the bus stops?

if there is no bus, how do people (real people, not rich tourists) usually go back and forth?

thanks -- susie margaret

Zihuatanejo Zihua - Quinta Camelinas
Posted: Tue September 9, 2003 01:20 PM UTC
I found a cute B&B in Zihautanejo; but it seems to be new. The owners want 50% of the fee sent via Western Union. How can I be sure they're legit? The name is Quinta Camelinas.

THX!
