We will be flying into the Guadalajara airport 4/1 ans was wondering what transportation there is from the airport to town?

I have also read that you don't need to rent a car as you can get around by bus or taxi. Would you advise renting a car for the Guad/Lake Chapala area?

We are flying to Guad and going from Guada to Bucerias. Was wondering if we should take the bus or if a taxi (12 passanger van was available).
If taking the bus:
1. Where does the bus leave from Guada? Take a taxi from airport to terminal?
2. Where does it go to in PV?

Can a taxi (van) be rented from Guada? What should we expect to pay?

I thinking of moving To Guadalajara in August, and was wondering if anybody had any info about how easy it is to get work there, as my finances mean i can't afford the luxury of being a man of leisure. I've worked as an English teacher before, worked in bars etc, my Spanish is pretty good but not quite perfect. Also any info on cheap apartments, working visas etc would be very useful and appreciated.

Can someone advise me on taking a bus from Guadalajara to Acapulco? How long is the trip? Which line should I take? How much does it cost? Is it a non-stop route, and must I change buses along the route? Is going to Acapulco (from Guadalajara) by bus easier/quicker than traveling to PV by bus?

I'm planning on retiring part of the year in or near Guadalajara. I enjoy living in a large city, but I like to live my life so that I don't feel as though I'm in a large city. I hope that makes sense. In Toronto, I live and work in my neightbourhood, therefore, the city doesn't feel overwhelming. Is it possible to live in Guadalajara with that sense of a neighbourhood for about $1200.00 per month.

Is there a nice hotel near the bus terminal in Guadalajara? We will be stopping for the night after riding the bus from Mexico City and will be leaving first thing the next morning for Puerta Vallarta. Looking for something safe and quaint and not too expensive. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
