Niagara Falls This may be a very stupid question
Posted: Sun June 15, 2008 01:34 PM UTC
I am a US citizen, I am leaving for Niagra Falls next week. I am bringing my birth certificate and my drivers license. I am worried that once I get over to Canada, if something happens to my paper work, I won't be able to get back into the US. Does this ever happen? I was really excited about my trip but now I am actually feeling scared. Any suggestions?

Niagara Falls visiting Niagara falls in Canada
Posted: Sat June 7, 2008 03:17 PM UTC
I am from India. I will be visiting USA in June-July-2008. One of my destination is Niagara falls (USA part). Is there a way to see it from Canada, without obtaining a Canadian Visa. I do not want to go though hassles of obtaining a Canadian Visa (and pay for it dearly), just to see Niagara fall from Canadian side. Is there a way out to this.

Niagara Falls Info about border passing requested
Posted: Sat May 31, 2008 06:11 PM UTC
I am travelling with my family & friends from US into Canada on July 8th.
Where are the available borders? Which are most suitable to cross to Canada and from Canada? The border we need must between Vermont and the Niagra Falls.

Do we need special papers to cross the border? Is there someone who has a advice for a nice stay for 2 families for 1 or 2 nights in Canada one hour from the border? We travel with 4 children in the age range from 10 - 15 years old.

I hope someone had a advice.

Kind Regards,

Niagara Falls Niagara Falls Safety/Crime after sunset - walking to Canada
Posted: Sun May 11, 2008 02:58 AM UTC
Hi,

My boyfriend and I are visiting Niagara falls soon and had a few questions. We are staying on the US side but we were planning on making a trip to the Canada side on foot. How long do you think it would take to cross the rainbow bridge on foot?

Also, we wanted to see the falls illuminated but were concerned with safety after dark. Is there a lot of crime? We would have to walk back to the hotel (Grand Niagara) from the viewing areas. Would this be safe?

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Niagara Falls A few questions for my first trip
Posted: Thu May 1, 2008 10:52 AM UTC
Hi!

I am planning my trip to Niagara in September and just need a little bit of help. I am flying in to Buffalo and getting a bus or shuttle to the Canadian side of the falls, after my 2 night stay I am going to take the train to New York.

What I need your help with is I dont know if it is better to board the train on the Canadian side and sit for 2 hours while customs do their thing or if there is a bus which I can take to the American side and catch the train from there?

The other option I wondered about is either taking a bus back to Buffalo and getting the train from there as there are more departures? or staying in Buffalo and visiting the falls for the day?

I am travelling on my own and would like to do things as cheap as possible so going to be staying in hostels and they are the same cost if I stay in either location.

One final question! The Empire Service and Lake Shore Limited trains are cheaper than the Maple Leaf service why is that?

Thanks for your help!

So we want to drive one day halfway from Boston to Niagara falls then spend the night at a nice place. The arrive at the falls. Look around some hours. The drive into Canada some hours find a nice place to stay a day and then return to Boston. We have rental cars. We do not wanna sleep at the Niagara waterfalls. Does anyone have ideas how to fill the trip. We are with 2 families and both families have teenage Children.

Many thanks,

Niagara Falls I need Help!!! Questions about my upcoming trip
Posted: Thu April 3, 2008 12:01 AM UTC
I am planning a suprise trip for my husband the last week of April to Niagara Falls (he thinks we are going to my high school reunion, he he!) and we are flying into the Buffalo Airport. We will be getting there mid day on a friday and leaving early monday I have several questions and would appreciate any and all help!

1) Would you recommend booking a hotel or a cabin? (I think it is still to cold for camping but my husband loves the outdoors. If so which would you recommend?)
2) What type of transportation do you think would be best? (i.e. rent a car, take taxi or shuttle from airport, public transportation)(especially tips on how to get from the Buffalo airport to the Canadian side for Cheap!)
3) Are there any problems I should be aware of if we decide to stay on the Canadian side? (We are American citizens with no passports, only DL and birth certif.)
4) What restaurants do you recommend for a reasonably priced food? (A low to medium budget answers here would be appreciated)
5) Are there any outdoor activities that you would recommend (We plan to do the Behind the falls, maid of mist, aero car, etc. and are looking for anything else outdoors to fit in while we are there.)

Thanks so much for your help!

Niagara Falls niagara to new jersey
Posted: Fri December 14, 2007 03:36 PM UTC
I am thinking of traveling to toronto to see niagara falls next may but my family also want to go to the six flags park in New Jersey and also visit New York for a few days. I wondered about how long it would take to drive and if it is easy to take a hire car from canada to usa and leave it there for collection. We think it might be easier to fly back from new york as its a long drive back to Toronto! Any better ideas or tips would be appreciated, or if anyone knows of places of interest on the long drive from Niagara to New Jersey?
Thanks, we are coming from England

Niagara Falls Australian to Canada via USA-customs
Posted: Wed November 21, 2007 07:53 PM UTC
Hi,
I am Australian citizen and will be spending a month in Toronto next year. During my stay I intend to drive down to the USA to look around and maybe do some shopping. When I drive nack to Canada from the USA will I have to pay duty on stuff I have bought in the USA? I thought that being a tourist in both Canada and USA may mean I pay no duty as I will have to pay any applicable duty when I return to Australia. Any advice appreciated.

Niagara Falls NYC to Niagara Falls
Posted: Fri November 16, 2007 04:46 AM UTC
Hi

I am going to spend few days checking out New York with 3 other friends. Any idea how I can get to Niagara Falls, Canada side after that? Would prefer a cost effective way. :) Any budget airline, coach services or 1 day tour?

Would 1 day in Niagara Falls suffice? I am not sure what we can do other than watch the Falls and take photos.

Niagara Falls Niagara Falls Adventure Pass
Posted: Tue October 2, 2007 06:57 PM UTC
I will be in Niagara Falls next week. From what I've seen and heard, the Niagara Falls Adventure Pass (5 attractions) is a good bargain. I know one can buy it on-line, but where does one buy it in person in the Falls area itself? At any one of the 5 attractions?

Thanks.

I am considering bring a motorcoach tour group to Niagara Falls the 3rd week in April of 2008. I have been to the Niagara Falls area in the Winter and the Fall but never in the early Spring. Is April too early to see any flowers in bloom? Is it too cold for the Maid of the MIst or Journey Behind the Falls? Thank you for your help!

Niagara Falls September Crowds and Bridge Traffic
Posted: Mon August 20, 2007 01:34 AM UTC
We would like to make a short visit to Niagara Falls on the second Sunday in September. How crowded is the Falls area at that time? Has anyone had experience with crossing the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge in mid to late afternoon? We have some serious time constraints and the options are a short(3-4) hour visit or none at all. We'd love to see the Falls again after a 40-year interval and do The Maid of the Mist but are unsure how realistic this plan is. Also, what is the parking situation? Thanks.

Hi all ! I am a British Citizen.I will be visiting Niagara Falls -Canada- in 2 weeks time.My question is this...can a British Citizen simply walk across Rainbow Bridge over to the American side for an hour or so ? Will there be lots of questions etc by security people? Will I need my passport ? Will I need a visa of some sort and will there be forms to fill in ? I want to spend just an hour or so on the American side of the Falls just so I can say that I have set foot in America ! Hope someone can answer my questions as I am having a very hard time finding out what the rules are .

Niagara Falls Is the Canadian Consulate at Buffalo Open on Saturdays?
Posted: Thu August 9, 2007 03:49 PM UTC
Hi Guys,

We are a groups of Indian students in US on F1 visa. We realize that we need a Canadian visa to view the falls from the Canadian side. We wanted to know if the Consulate at Buffalo is open on Saturdays as we will be reaching there only on Saturday (8/11/07).

The requisite documents needed:

1.) Valid passport with US visa and I94 card
2.) I20 from our university
3.) Proof of enrollment in current semester
4.) 2 passport size photos
5.) Cashier's Check for $75 in the name of "“Consulate General of Canada"

Can you also let us know if we missed out any documents?

Thank you,

Regards,
Gautham.
