Niagara Falls niagara falls via amtrak
Posted: Fri July 3, 2009 02:35 PM UTC
Hello
I will be coming to Ontario through Niagara Falls by train later this month. My Amtrak ticket is for New York City to Niagara Falls and then I have a ViaRail reservation for Niagara Falls to Grimsby ON. I am wondering if I have to get off the train (I think it is the same train/different crew)to get my ticket and reboard to carry on to Grimsby. I have asked this question of both ViaRail and Amtrak but have not be able talk to anyone with the answers. If anyone has any knowledge of this, I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks so much.

Niagara Falls Walking Across Boarder?
Posted: Thu July 2, 2009 04:36 PM UTC
Hello,

I have never been to Niagra falls and was wondering if it is possible to walk across the boarder?
How expensive is it to cross with a taxi?
Is there a bus service that crosses boarder?
If there are more than two ports of entry, which one would you recomend?

Thank you...

Niagara Falls Niagara Falls experiences
Posted: Tue June 30, 2009 06:50 PM UTC
My bf & I are heading to Niagara Falls (both sides most likely) this coming weekend. I'm doing research and came upon these two similar adventures:

Journey Behind the Falls and Cave of the Winds Tour

They both sound similar (taking an elevator down and walking on a boardwalk close the falls). One is on the Canada side and the other on the US side.

Have any of you been to both, or either? Which one do you recommend?

Also, any place else we shouldn't miss at Niagara? We are going on Maid of the Mist as well. We've both been to Niagara before but more than 10 years ago.

(We'll be in Toronto heading back to the US so just stopping in for about half a day).

Thanks!

Posted: Thu May 28, 2009 03:48 PM UTC
I remember going to N.Falls as a kid and the city having many haunted houses and fun-houses. Does this still exist? We have a wedding to attend and I am planning some vacation time around it. Will me and my two kids (8 & 11) have lots to keep us entertained?
Thanks.

Niagara Falls Any Highly Recommended Restaurants?
Posted: Mon September 22, 2008 07:53 PM UTC
We're adventurous eaters and love all kinds of food from all parts of the world. Our family will visit the falls this weekend. Any suggestions as to places we should try to dine at? We probably wouldn't go anywhere too fancy (we'll have our 2 kids, ages 7 & 12, with us, plus we'll be dressed for sight-seeing.) We hope to try either something known locally, seafood, or asian cuisine. Maybe we'll drive a little distance if we need to reach someplace with especially great food!

Thanks!

Niagara Falls Niagara Falls-A room with a view

I would appreciate any hotel recommendations for Niagara Falls. A great view from my hotel room would be worth the price of admission! A quiet, classy restaurant would be wonderful too.

Niagara Falls This may be a very stupid question
Posted: Sun June 15, 2008 01:34 PM UTC
I am a US citizen, I am leaving for Niagra Falls next week. I am bringing my birth certificate and my drivers license. I am worried that once I get over to Canada, if something happens to my paper work, I won't be able to get back into the US. Does this ever happen? I was really excited about my trip but now I am actually feeling scared. Any suggestions?

Niagara Falls visiting Niagara falls in Canada
Posted: Sat June 7, 2008 03:17 PM UTC
I am from India. I will be visiting USA in June-July-2008. One of my destination is Niagara falls (USA part). Is there a way to see it from Canada, without obtaining a Canadian Visa. I do not want to go though hassles of obtaining a Canadian Visa (and pay for it dearly), just to see Niagara fall from Canadian side. Is there a way out to this.

Niagara Falls Info about border passing requested
Posted: Sat May 31, 2008 06:11 PM UTC
I am travelling with my family & friends from US into Canada on July 8th.
Where are the available borders? Which are most suitable to cross to Canada and from Canada? The border we need must between Vermont and the Niagra Falls.

Do we need special papers to cross the border? Is there someone who has a advice for a nice stay for 2 families for 1 or 2 nights in Canada one hour from the border? We travel with 4 children in the age range from 10 - 15 years old.

I hope someone had a advice.

Kind Regards,

Niagara Falls Niagara Falls Safety/Crime after sunset - walking to Canada
Posted: Sun May 11, 2008 02:58 AM UTC
Hi,

My boyfriend and I are visiting Niagara falls soon and had a few questions. We are staying on the US side but we were planning on making a trip to the Canada side on foot. How long do you think it would take to cross the rainbow bridge on foot?

Also, we wanted to see the falls illuminated but were concerned with safety after dark. Is there a lot of crime? We would have to walk back to the hotel (Grand Niagara) from the viewing areas. Would this be safe?

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Niagara Falls A few questions for my first trip
Posted: Thu May 1, 2008 10:52 AM UTC
Hi!

I am planning my trip to Niagara in September and just need a little bit of help. I am flying in to Buffalo and getting a bus or shuttle to the Canadian side of the falls, after my 2 night stay I am going to take the train to New York.

What I need your help with is I dont know if it is better to board the train on the Canadian side and sit for 2 hours while customs do their thing or if there is a bus which I can take to the American side and catch the train from there?

The other option I wondered about is either taking a bus back to Buffalo and getting the train from there as there are more departures? or staying in Buffalo and visiting the falls for the day?

I am travelling on my own and would like to do things as cheap as possible so going to be staying in hostels and they are the same cost if I stay in either location.

One final question! The Empire Service and Lake Shore Limited trains are cheaper than the Maple Leaf service why is that?

Thanks for your help!

Niagara Falls Travelling from Boston to Niagara falls and north any ideas?
Posted: Sat April 19, 2008 05:47 PM UTC
Hi all. We would like to have some ideas. We are for some weeks in the usa in July. We plan to spend some days around Boston and more north. The idea is to go 5 days to the north. So we want to drive one day halfway from Boston to Niagara falls then spend the night at a nice place. The arrive at the falls. Look around some hours. The drive into Canada some hours find a nice place to stay a day and then return to Boston. We have rental cars. We do not wanna sleep at the Niagara waterfalls. Does anyone have ideas how to fill the trip. We are with 2 families and both families have teenage Children.

Many thanks,
