Toronto Moose Travel
Posted: Wed August 12, 2009 09:21 PM UTC
Hi there - im coming to toronto from london at the end of august - and ive just been left in the lurch by my travel buddy - so im on my own - gulp - but ive heard that canadians are very friendly - so im gonna still give it ago - yaay....

i think im going to stay in some cheep n cheerful backpacker type hostel, not sure which? do you know if there is any i should avoid?

and also im wondering about trips out of toronto - id like to get to niagra, but dont know which company to choose, and im wondering about doing an 8 day trip with Moose Travel Network, they are based in Toronto, going to kingston, montreal, mt. tremblant, ft. coulonge, ottawa and passing through algonquin park. But i dont know if that company is any good? or if there is another one I should be going with. Im more in to seeing your great countryside rather than too many cities.

ANY HELP / SUGGESTIONS OF THINGS TO DO / NOT DO WOULD BE GREAT

and if any of you are thinking of going to Peru - im kinda an expert as i planned a months trip not that long ago - so fire away lol

thanks alot

Toronto Cheapest transport from airport to hostel!
Posted: Thu August 6, 2009 08:26 PM UTC
Hi Everyone,

I'd like some advise please! On September 9th myself and my boyfriend shall be arriving at Pearson International airport and need to get to our hostel in Chinatown (Chinatown Travellwers Home), I'd like to know what the cheapest option of getting there would be? The hostel is offering a pick up bus but is charging $50 but i'm not sure if this is per person and whether this price is too expensive! Would a taxi be cheaper or is there public transport available that is easy to use?

Thanks Sarah

Toronto Restaurant in Little Italy?
Posted: Mon July 20, 2009 09:41 PM UTC
Hey, guys, I'm going up to Toronto tomorrow, and on Wednesday evening I'd like to take my wife's boss out to dinner. Little Italy or west of downtown seems like a good place for us to meet..and I like Italian anyway...

So, any recommendations on a real Italian restaurant (i.e., with Italians) in the area, or is Toronto's Little Italy going the way of New York's Little Italy (i.e., most of the people there have never been to Italy)...?

Anyway, Italian is less important than a decent place where two guys can hear each other talk...

Thanks!

Toronto Cheap way to get to Montreal from Toronto
Posted: Sun June 28, 2009 04:03 PM UTC
Dear all, hi, I am going to visit Montreal in the mid of July. As to the information I now have, I can either take train, bus or flight to there. Unfortunately, I am a budget traveller, so taking flight is not my issue. I wonder any other cheap ways to go to Montreal?

Many thanks to any suggestions.

Cheers

Toronto Best dimsum and Korean BBQ in Toronto or close by
Posted: Sun June 28, 2009 04:51 AM UTC
Where is the best place to eat dimsum in/around Toronto? We have a car so we can travel beyond the city. I know that Toronto has a huge Chinese population so there must be some excellent places. I'm planning on visiting Pacific Mall. Are there any good places there to eat?

Also, where is the best place to eat Korean bbq? I read reviews on Korean Grill House and Grill Time Korean BBQ. If you've been to both and could only go to one, which one would you choose? If neither, what place would you recommend?

Thanks for your help. :)

Toronto Where can I find Golden Cloud brand Chinese Sausages?
Posted: Tue June 23, 2009 12:23 PM UTC
I'll be visiting Toronto soon and want to make a trip to Chinatown to pick up the Golden Cloud brand of Chinese Sausages while I'm there. They used to be shipped to the U.S., but it seems that brand is no longer available here and it's been my favorite brand to cook with since I discovered them years ago. I know there are several Chinatowns in Toronto, but I'm not familiar with any of them and I was hoping I could at least get the names/addresses of some of the Chinese supermarkets in the area. In the past, the sausages were available at the larger Chinese supermarkets in NY where many different brands were carried. Any help would be appreciated.

Toronto Am I going to be bored?!
Posted: Tue April 28, 2009 12:45 PM UTC
So my friend has moved to Toronto from England for a year and I've decided to book myself out there for a month!
June 15th - July 18th!
The only thing is, I think she'll still be working ( she has like 2 or 3 jobs!)so we'll only be able to do touristy things on her days off, if she hasn't already done them!
We're planning on going to Edge Fest and Warped Tour, but other than that, I have no idea what I'll be doing out there? haha
Can someone give me tips on what to do with my time, even if it is alone?!

Also, it's my 21st birthday on 8th july, any ideas on what to do/where to go?

Thanks, Bex

Toronto Question of getting to VIA train station from Toronto Pearson` intl. Airport
Posted: Sat April 11, 2009 05:56 PM UTC
Hi there,

As other responses in the related topic, I see that the No.192 airport rocket served from the airport to downtown Toronto. But the problem is, I went to the TTC website, and found that the destination of No.192 is at Kipling, where is still far from the majoy bus terminals (Greyhound or Coach Canada)and VIA station.

Does this mean I need to get off at Kipling and another type of transportation to the station? If so, would anybody tell me what kind of transportation I can take to get to the station?

Or any other better advices for transportation from the airport to the train station? If there is a direct way to get to the downtown will be exceptionally great, coz I am afrard that I will get lost~(my first time to Canada).

Thank you very much indeed.

Toronto (1) Shuttle to/from airport and (2) rtn train trip to Niagra Falls from Toronto
Posted: Sat March 28, 2009 07:35 AM UTC
Hi everyone

We plan to fly into Toronto from Quebec for a couple of days in early October as we want to see Niagra Falls before heading back home to Australia. (I am assuming that flying into Toronto would optimise our time in Toronto, but I'm open to suggestions).

(1) Could you please tell me if there is a shuttle service from the airport to major hotels in the city (and return)? If so, any idea of cost each way/per person and if it is recommended that I book it in advance?

(2) I've seen reference to trains to Niagra Falls in this forum. I was wondering if they are reliable, and how often they run from Toronto, how long does the journey take and any idea of the cost (return ticket)?? And finally, what is the return service like to Toronto?

Many thanks for your help.

I'm planning to travel from Dublin to LAX with a stopover at Toronto airport. I won't be booking the tickets separately it just says DUB -LAX via YYZ on the travel website.

* Do I need to collect my baggage and retransfer upon arrival or departure?

* Is YYZ airport an alright one for connecting flights?.......I'll be travelling alone and never done the whole connecting process....so I'm kinda nervous.....

thanks

Toronto 80's Dance Clubs
Posted: Wed March 18, 2009 07:05 AM UTC
Is there a retro dance club in Toronto that does 80's (and 70's) music? I would prefer one that does this kind of music all the time but even information on a club that just has a retro or 80's night would be appreciative. Just to give an idea, if anyone's been to Montreal, there's a club there in the Crescent Street corridor called Club Electric Avenue that only does 80's and it's EXTREMELY popular. Anything like that in Toronto?

Toronto Travel advice
Posted: Sat March 7, 2009 09:42 PM UTC
We have plan to visit Toronto area including Niagara Falls, Canada Wonderland, CN Tower,Museum etc in mid June 2007. What would be the best way to get around the city? I was thinking of renting a car, but afraid of finding parking and getting lost, since I have never been to Toronto before. Would that be a good idea to stay in a downtown Toronto area hotel?
