I am coming to Winnipeg, from North Dakota for a concert in July at the MTS Centre.
I know there are some safety concerns in downtown Winnipeg.

Where would be the best/safest parking spots for a concert at the MTS Centre to best avoid car theft, panhandlers, etc?

I will be flying into Winnipeg this July and need to get to Winnipeg Beach. Does anyone know of any sort of transportation to get me from the airport to the beach? Unfortunately, I won't be quite old enough to rent a car.

I'm thinking of moving from Calgary to Winnipeg . Recently visited and had some concerns about the city, ie; employment, crime, etc... I can handle the cold, but what is the quality of life really like. Is there a lot of rational tension between the native and non-native population. Downtown did seem a bit bleak with a disenfranchised, drunks hanging around. Although Calgary has its share of the same problem (maybe less visible). As well, can anyone give me an idea of what Winnipeg is like for artists?

VT member birchy99 (from Oregon) is coming to Winnipeg for a dog show to show his wife and his bearded collies.

We are planning a VT meeting - this would be the third VT meeting that has been
held in Winnipeg, usually whenever a VT member from afar comes to visit. So
far, meetings have included spouses or significant others if people wish.

VT members always seem to have something to chat about. It is always cool to
compare notes on each others trips. It will be fun!

I am off to Winnipeg for a family wedding in August and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for what I should egt up to during my week there. Hopefully family should have some ideas but often it is good to get out alone and meet people. I'm coming to Winnipeg 6th-8th April during a 3 week train trip across Canada.

Been checking the weather and see that it's been -12 at night, which being from England where we don't get proper winters, I'm not used to! How cold is this?! Will I be alright in normal clothing, i.e jeans, shirt, warm jacket, hat & gloves?!

Also, any recommendations for a hotel fairly near to the train station, and ice hockey arena (off to watch Manotoba Moose 2&1/2 hours after arrival). One that's decent but not too expensive.

hi,,,,i'm visiting winnipeg again anytime from now, and how i to find western profile company bcos i'm only a tourist and i don't drive.

Can anyone tell me if the German bakery on Academy Rd. about a half block from Keniston Rd (spelling ??) is still in operation. It would be on your left as you head west, and it was right beside a pizza place. I need the name and address, and possibly a description of the exterior for my travel page.

The fellow that started it about three years ago worked very long hours, and was putting his heart and soul into its operation. They served wonderful sandwiches, soups, and of course had great bread and assorted bakery items. They had a small sit down area, much like a cafe.

If you intend to go for a drive out of curiousity, stop in, you won't be sorry. Then you could find out the owners name for me as well. (web site??)
