Uppsala is a city dominated by students. I would like to find a good restaurant that is not dominated by students. Does anyone know?

Could somebody in Uppsala help me to find a shop with foods, that using by locals. I don't want eating in restaurants and cafes (it's very expensive!), but i want a buy food in shop.

Can anybody tell me how much time more or less is needed to visit Uppsala, to see most of its places of interest? For the time being I'm planing one day only. Is it ok?

My daughter is studying in Uppsala, Sweden from August, 2008 for a year. I'd love to visit there during her stay, possibly some time at the beginning of 2009, for anywhere between 2 weeks to 3 months. Does anyone know where to investigate house swaps? I live in a beautiful area, right on the northern California coast. You can see the Pacific Ocean from my back yard. Great beaches and places to walk along the ocean or through the redwoods. I've a sweet 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with a large vegetable and flower garden, small pond with fountain and lovely neighbors. 4 miles outside of the town, but feels secluded.

Any ideas or advice on how to look into this possibility would be greatly appreciated.

I`m student and I will come with my wife to Uppsala in January. I need a flat for whole semester from January to June. I`m not interested in hostels of sexchange-stuents , i`m looking for something private. Does anyone has something to offer or recommend?
Does anyone know that kind of newspaper in Uppsala, where I could advertise?

Hi. I'm planning to spend a couple of months in Uppsala later this year and my return flight is booked for December 28th from Arlanda Airport to Amsterdam and then to Brazil. The problem is the flight leaves too early in the morning (06:45 am) and I'm afraid of not reaching the airport in time due to bad weather (i.e. snow). Are there frequent connections from Uppsala to the airport even in the winter? Should I change the departure time of my flight (or even the date)? Thanks in advance!

I've got a summer break coming up and me and a couple of my friends are thinking about heading to sweden. The plan is to visit my friends relatives but they're like 200 years old and I'd like to see some real places that don't have people shaking their heads and arms... sorry guys. Is it better to travel from Stockholm to Uppsala via bus or train? What are the pros and cons? Do I see the same type of scenery whether I take the bus or the train? I'm spending a very brief time in the Stockholm area and the trip to Uppsala would be my only chance to see stuff outside Stockholm. If I have a Stockholm Card, will that cover my train fare or bus fare between the 2 cities ?
