Seattle Rv rentals
Posted: Tue March 18, 2008 03:52 PM UTC
Does anyone have suggestions on a reliable, affordable (as affordable as to be expected in June) RV rental company. My family (in-laws, cousins, the whole gang) will visit the Seattle area in June and we need an RV to travel and sleep in. I have heard horror stories about RV rentals and would like a recommendation in an attempt to have a pleasant experience. We will fly into Seatlle but then will head to Port Orchard to visit more family and then south the Mount St. Helens, spend some time in Olympia State Park and the San Juan Islands. Thanks for your help.

We're flying into Seattle and looking for an oceanfront rental for a week in June or July. What are the best areas to look? We'll have a rental car and are not into condos.. preferably a house.. something scenic available by owner.

Seattle Lodging in Seattle
Posted: Wed February 20, 2008 10:08 PM UTC
Hi

We're planning on going to Seattle from either Victoria, B.C., or Vancouver B.C. around May 11th. We will not have a vehicle.

This is a two part question:

1. What ferry services are available that go from Vancouver, B.C. to Seattle or from Victoria, B.C. to Seattle?

2. Not being familiar with Seattle area, and since we will not have our own transportation, we would like to stay in a central location and use the cities bus/shuttle system. Any suggestion on where to stay?

Seattle Things to do in Seattle?
Posted: Wed February 20, 2008 09:34 AM UTC
Hi, I'm going to be in Seattle for a week or so in April. Has anyone got any sugesstions on what we can do during our stay? Must see's / do's? So far we have the obvious things like Pike place market and the Space needle. We were also thinking about hiring a car for a day and going to one of the national parks? Any suggestions on where would be good? how long would it take to drive to a national park?

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Ian.

Seattle Choose hotels downtown or near the airport
Posted: Mon February 18, 2008 03:40 PM UTC
Hi!!

I will be arriving from Vancouver with luggage on a Sunday ( Family of four, children: 11 and 17 ) at about midday so we would like to see the city. We have two options:
1. Find a place to leave our luggage ( Is it possible ? )in Seattle, and in the evening go to a hotel near the airport because I have to decide where to stay, I have seen that hotels near the airport are cheaper than the ones in Downtown. I have also got a very good price for the 4 of us ( family with children, 11 and 17 ) for only $68.41 with taxes included , it is a three star hotel but it is in Redmond. So what do you think ? Is it worth it to book that one or is it better to book one three stars at the airport for $106.70. or one in the city for $229.68 I really want to be in the afternoon and evening downtown to have a meal and see the city.

Thank a lot

Seattle Boeing Factory tours from Seattle
Posted: Sun February 3, 2008 01:54 PM UTC
I'll be in Seattle in November for the sole purpose of going to the Boeing factory. I wanted to get an organised tour from Seattle that can pick us up from the hotel. We'll be there on Tue 11th Nov, however all the tours I can find online don't seem to go on Tuesdays! Can anyone recommend a tour company that runs a daily tour to the Boeing factory? Thanks

I am considering a trip to visit relatives that recently relocated to the Enumclaw/King County area. Can anyone tell me anything about it? What is there to do there? The relatives are a little biased and I would love an outside opinion....

Thanks for any insight!!

Seattle Downtown hotels and mass transit??
Posted: Thu January 17, 2008 11:13 PM UTC
I am going to be in Seattle for a three days in mid-June and after looking at several sites I decided that I should stay downtown as I won't have a car.
This brings up two questions:
1. The hotels seem to be $125/night and up and those at the lower price don't seem to appealing. Any recommendations on a reasonably priced hotel in the downtown area?

2. What is mass transit like? It looks like I could use the bus system, like I do when visiting San Francisco. Is it pretty convenient? Or can I just walk everywhere? If so, the price of the hotel may be worth the convenience.

Any help with these questions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Seattle Ranier or Olympic in February?
Posted: Thu January 17, 2008 02:02 AM UTC
Hello! I will taking my first trip to Seattle (and the Pacific NW in general) the end of February, the 26th-29th. I have a conference I will be attending, but have one day completely open. I was hoping to rent a car for a day and drive either to Rainier NP or Olympic NP since I have never been to either. I'd just like to see some of the beautiful natural areas and take a hike or two, but I am not sure what it is like there the end of February. Are roads passable? Would one be better than the other at that time? Is there a better option?

Any help would be appreciated. I have no idea what to expect!

Thanks,

John

Seattle Cool Neighborhoods???
Posted: Sun January 13, 2008 04:25 PM UTC
We're looking for nice, safe and cool (not necessarily hip and trendy with those trendy bistros and chic boutiques...ha)...neighborhoods in the Seattle area where we intend to rent a small apt/studio for a couple of months to get a feel for the energy of the area. Our intent is to relax and be within walking distance or public transportation of most everything.

Example...we've done similar quests in Greenwhich Village,NYC, St. Augustine,Fl, Belmont Shore, CA, North Beach area of San Francisco...etc.

Any suggestions???

Seattle Driving with overseas Licence
Posted: Sat December 15, 2007 01:47 AM UTC
We have a little less than a week left until we travel and are just in the last stages of planning.

We found out that for BC in Canada, we don't need an international driving licence (permit) to drive legally there since we'll be staying less than 6 months - we can just use our regular Australian Licences.

I'm wondering if there is somewhere online (or someone on here who knows) if we can find out if this is the same in Seattle?? We have not hired a car there yet, but would like to keep our options open just in case.

Can anyone point us in the right direction of where I'd find this info?

thanks in advance

Seattle Great Hotel Deals Before Christmas
Posted: Tue December 4, 2007 07:20 PM UTC
I'm aware that often hotels have incredible specials before Xmas because few people are staying at the time. If you hear of such a deal in Seattle, say between Dec. 20th - Dec. 23rd, I'd much appreciate it if you could post it here!

Thanks,

Seattle Seattle Train station to Hotel around 10:30pm at night - how do we get there?
Posted: Thu November 29, 2007 10:10 AM UTC
We're travelling from Vancouver to Seattle in a few weeks time and our train does not get into Seattle until around 10:30pm. There are 4 of us travelling and we'll be staying in Yale Avenue Seattle.

What would be the best way to get to our hotel at that time of night and does anyone have an approximate cost ?? I ask because I previously asked about a Taxi on NYE, and was told there are no "hail on the curb" cabs in Seattle?

Seattle New Years Eve ??
Posted: Thu November 15, 2007 10:11 AM UTC
Just wondering what sort of celebrations will be on in Seattle on New Years Eve. Our family will be visiting (from Australia) and it's usually a big party night here with fireworks and the like. Not sure how you guys celebrate New Years in the States - but will there be anything we can do as a family that evening to see in the new year?
