Williamsburg Advice for Honeymoon
Posted: Thu September 25, 2008 11:10 PM UTC
I would like all the advice I can get on what to do in Williamsburg, VA. My fiance and I are going there on our honeymoon that last week in October. I have looked at all there is to do there and I have no idea where to start. Should I buy a travel package deal or should I wait till we get there to buy tickets? Also advice on where to stay would be nice. We are wanting a nice hotel, but not too pricey. We aren't going to be in it that much so we would rather use our money on other things. But we don't want to stay in a run down place either. We thought about driving out to VA Beach one of our days and viewing all the lighthouses and attractions out there. But we are more interested in the colonial part so that's where we want to spend the majority of our trip. So any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Williamsburg Breakfast tour
Posted: Fri April 27, 2007 02:40 PM UTC
I'm coming to Williamsburg with a car club and we would like to get out early in the morning, drive for a while, then stop for breakfast, then drive back. Perhaps 30 miles out for the drive. Is there a great place to stop for breakfast along a route 30 miles out in either direction. Preferably a pretty ride. Maybe on the way to Yorktown, Norfolk, etc.
We could have as many as 20 or 30 descend on the resturant at one time so we need either a couple of ideas or a large place.
Thank you,

Williamsburg Special Activities in Williamsburg
Posted: Sun July 23, 2006 02:00 AM UTC
My wife and I are coming to Williamsburg next May (2007) for a week and someone told me next year was a special year for Williamsburg. Like 400th anniversary or something. If this is true do you know of any special activities going on that we might want to plan our trip around or is there a good web site to check on local activities. Thanks a lot.

Williamsburg Capital Landing Road
Posted: Wed June 7, 2006 10:45 PM UTC
Would someone know about the King William Inn (or is it the Travelodge King William?) We have reservations for next May there. We have previosly stayed at the Country Hearth Inn and Suites and have no complaints about that, the location was perfect. I would like to know about the Capital Landing Road area, is it safe? It seemed so last year. What can you tell me about the area around the King William? Any reviews would be appreciated.

Williamsburg Any one go on a Ghost Tour???
Posted: Wed October 5, 2005 03:19 PM UTC
We are going in the weekend of Oct 20 and since its Halloween time thought we would get into the spirit and go on a ghost tour. I know their a tourist trap but, it is something for the kids to do in the evening. I found two on the Internet.
1. Run by the Williamsburg organization called:
"Legends,Mysteries,Myths,and Ghosts" tour
2. Run by a Private operator called:
"Ghosts of Williamsburg" Tour

I also saw one in Yorktown. Has anyone been on any of these? Or has an opinion if one is better than the other?

Williamsburg Williamsburg with Toddler
Posted: Fri August 26, 2005 04:36 PM UTC
My husband, toddler and I are going to Williamsburg for the first time next week. I would appreciate any suggestions of places to go with my 14 month old. I would also appreciate any suggestions as to dinner resturants. We would very much like to go to one of the colonial resturants. I can not recall the name, but I remember reading that one had a tavern show that was family friendly until 8pm. How about Kimg's Arms or Christina's? Any other suggestions? My son is generally very good at resturants, especially if there is a lot of action.
Thanks in advance.

Williamsburg WHO HAS THE BEST FLEX TICKET PRICES?
Posted: Mon June 13, 2005 12:12 PM UTC
I have been searching for the best flex ticket prices for my stay
July 8-July 15. I found the 7-4-1 Flex Ticket: 7 Attractions for 1 Price! Unlimited admission during your stay to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Water Country, Jamestown Settlement, Historic Jamestown, Yorktown Victory Center and Yorktown Battlefields for $162.20 at a website. Does anyone one know of this combination being offered cheaper or a variation. I have 4 and 5 year old boys and they wouldn't pay a thing. Thanks for any information.

Williamsburg Opinions wanted on Hilton Garden Inn
Posted: Tue May 3, 2005 03:12 PM UTC
I've not traveled to Williamsburg before, but I will be going there with my wife and son this August 20-26. After a little research, I booked a room at the Hilton Garden Inn. It seems nice, and the price was OK - 134 a night. Has anyone had any experience with this hotel before? Or do you like somewhere else better? I'm looking for something at a decent price, but with a good AAA rating.

Thanks!

Williamsburg Williamsburg at Christmas
Posted: Sat October 9, 2004 10:09 AM UTC
hi I live in Florida and we are going to spend 5 days in Williamsburg at Christmas. We already have our hotel, but we are wondering what are the best restaurants and taverns to eat in and what are the activities we should not miss. We like music and would like to hear some in an historical setting as well. And where are the best lights for the holidays?

If anyone is coming to Floida for the holidays,I would be glad to answer some questions on it.

Williamsburg Cicada invasion!
Posted: Tue May 25, 2004 04:16 PM UTC
I'm from the DC area where there is a cicada infestation from the notorious brood x that emerges every 17 years (we're talking in the millions!). My husband and I would like to get away from them and were thinking about Williamsburg this summer. Does anyone know if the cicada problem has reached Williamsburg?

Williamsburg driving from Williamsburg to Nyc
Posted: Sun August 17, 2003 01:54 PM UTC
Hi to anyone who reads this plea!!!!! We live in England and will be in Williamsburg for a few days but will leave on Sunday 31st August (which I know is your labour weekend), we are then driving up to Nyc and we want to know which is the best way to go.
Is it stright up the route 95 or would it be better to head back to Newport news/Va Beach area and drive across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/tunnel and then straight up the route 13 into Philadelphia and then onto Nyc?
I dont know if the mileage is must different but a few people keep saying that the route 95 is chockablock and always road works, and also taking into consideration it is a holiday weekend.
Any info would be appreciated.
I know I have asked a similar question in the forum a couple of weejs ago, but we didnt realise then that this would be the holiday weekend.
Thanks in advance.
