Me ad my 3 smal children r goin to goblin valley, I need an idea of what I should brng. We have not been hiking before.also what else is there to do beside the rocks?

We will be heading from SLC south to Goblin Valley. Other than Hanksville what would be the nearest hotel/motel to stay in? Goblin Valley will be our first stop on our tour of the beautiful Utah canyonlands

Are there any fairy chimney rocks really close to the Carmel Canyon Trail? If not, where are any located?
