I need to rent a van or bus for May 17th for about 8 hours for approx. 12 people. Do you do that kind of service or is there anyone you can recommend?
Thank You, Jana Hildreth |

| South Padre Island | Best Place to stay Posted: Sat January 5, 2008 01:47 AM UTC
WE are thinking of visiting South Padre Island the last week of Jan - Feb.
My husband and I usually stay at Hilton or Marriotts, or places of historic status. What hotel can you suggest that best meets this criteria? We would like to be on/walking distance to the beach and not just a brick building. Need some atmosphere. Thanks, PHD |

| South Padre Island | Any info would be great Posted: Thu May 24, 2007 04:50 PM UTC
We are coming out in July and have a group with 3 families with kids. we are renting and house and trying to find out if there are any grocrey delivery services on the island or any services that deliver to the island. Since we are all getting in in the late afternoon and evening it would make for an easier first night if no one had to stop on their way in. Can anyone let me know if they have this type of service?
Much appreciated!! |

| South Padre Island | padre island locals..help.. Posted: Wed February 7, 2007 03:38 PM UTC
hey guys, glad your here.... I was hoping I could bounce a few things off ya.....
I am coming down for some EXTREMELY overdue downtime.... I'm a 33 yr old single chick traveling by myself. My friend has a bungalow I'm staying at, address hasn't been disclosed to me yet. I won't be able to come until the second week in March. APPARENTLY that's not the best time for a 30 something due to spring break. I heard i may not even be able to get over the bridge... is this true? I'd loose it if I showed up after a 25 hour drive from Michigan and couldn't get in.... How do I avoid this? Besides the obvious don't come unitl April..\LOLL Where do I want to avoid? I don't mind partying, but I am not that college crowd girl anymore. I'm planning on staying awhile maybe a few months.. are there places on the island I can get temporary cash jobs if I run low on funds? I'm NOT a homely, trashy, uneducated, boring, antisocial, drug addict, freakshow. And what about cell phone reception on the island I'm with Centennial, if that helps. Also internet.... wireless? or don't bother...? And island transportation..... one of my buddies said you can get anywhere on the island for $1 cab ride, I'll have my car , but I could just imagine the parking or lack of parking. I also plan on bringing my mountain bike, is that a good idea or not? And the last question I'll plague you with is this, I plan on eating at home a lot.... what is the cost of living there like? How much more expensive are the grocery stores compared to main land? Or is this not an issue... Ahhhh.. and what about gas prices there? I'm paying between $2.15 and $2.29 a gallon up here in Michigan. I soooooo appreciate you help, hope I didn't try to cover too much there, I just like to do as much research as possible before going to a new place so I'm not blindsided. I'm openminded to any suggestions, questions, comments.... thanks...... |

| South Padre Island | Accomodation recommendations Posted: Sun August 6, 2006 05:22 AM UTC
I have not been to SPI since I was a child and am hoping to go for a long weekend in September. Any recommendations for a moderately priced place with a pool? It is better to stay on the bay or gulf side?
thanks. |

| South Padre Island | Where to Stay Posted: Tue January 17, 2006 03:02 PM UTC
Has anyone stayed at Seabreeze Beach Resort #2 5400 Gulf Blvd. What was the experience like and, would you recommend Inverness or Saida or any other Condo over this. We wish something laid back during the day. This place seems to cater to retirees and families . Is it clean and decent since they advertise as a luxurious property. All these adjectives and pictures can all be deceiving. Need your opinions.
Thanks |

| South Padre Island | Info needed for traveing to SP in October Posted: Sun October 9, 2005 01:35 AM UTC
My family has never been to South Padre before. We're leaving next week and staying for a week. Could someone who was just there (or lives there) tell us if we will be facing jellyfish and/or mosquitos while we're there? What about tourism and traffic? We picked October hoping it would sort of a quiet, relaxing time to go. Will the water be warm enough to swim in? One more thing, we have two children (3 and 5). What is the walk into the water like? Rocks? Seaweed? Gradual dropping off? THANKS!

| South Padre Island | Schlitterbahn Beach Questions Posted: Sun June 5, 2005 12:33 AM UTC
My family is headed to SPI in two weeks. I've seen pictures of Schlitterbahn Beach (SB) but can't figure out how the park works. Can someone please answer the following questions?
1. Is the endless river large enough to handle the crowds on a busy day? Is the river just a sea of tubes? 2. How do you get from the end of the river where it empties into the wave pool to the tube conveyor belt? Do you have to swim through the waves towing the tube, or will you eventually float over there? 3. Do the in-water waiting lines for the slides back up to the point where no one else can get in line? How difficult is it to direct your tube from the main river to the waiting line river? If the waiting line is all the way out to the main river, how long can I expect to wait in line before getting to the slide? 4. Do you have any recommendations on where we should grab a shaded table? I'd like a spot with all day shade and easy access to the river. A scenic area would be a plus. I love water parks and the thought of going to one and not having to climb stairs all day sounds like heaven! Thanks in advance for your help. lroger01 |

| South Padre Island | I don't really know anything about South Padre Posted: Fri September 24, 2004 03:23 AM UTC
I'm taking my sister and some of her friends to South Padre for their highschool spring break, none of them are over 18 is there anything they can do? And how's the night like for the under 18 and over 21?? Is there a lot to do during the day and is it based on spring breakers or is it more of a family oriented place? Please help me out! thanks a ton!
