San Antonio Surprise 50th Birthday Trip
Posted: Fri February 15, 2008 12:20 PM UTC
I am planning a surprise birthday trip for my husband's 50th to San Antonio on March 14-16th. We have never been there before. It will be my 3 grown children, and my Mother In Law (78). We are flying in and not renting a car to save cost. I am wondering your recommendations on where to stay on the Riverwalk that will not be terribly expensive and be close to all attractions. ALl the hotel sites seem to have different ratings. We need to use the trolley and public transportaion and want to see everything. Any suggestions on restaurants and other things "not to miss" would be great. Thanks.

Does anyone have a site that I can go to and book Final Four rooms? Every hotel near the riverwalk is sold out. Is there a local website for rooms? Or is EventHotelRooms.com my best option?

San Antonio Home cooking
Posted: Mon December 31, 2007 02:57 PM UTC
Anybody know where I can get some down home cooking in San Antonio? Not BBQ or Mexican food, much as I love both. I mean blue plate specials where the locals eat. Chicken fried steak, pork chops, meat loaf, cornbread, greens --- that kind of food.

San Antonio Thanksgiving parade on riverwalk
Posted: Sun November 18, 2007 11:14 PM UTC
I am interested in reserving for the dinner in a restaurant along the riverwalk for Friday 11-23-2007, so we can watch the parade. I can't seem to find any info on restaurant reservation on the internet. Does anyone have idea which restaurants are at good locations for parade viewing? I prefer Italian, Mexican or Chinese restaurants, but they rank below good viewing locations.

Thanks

My husband and I thinking of going to San Antonio this weekend. Being native Texans we have been many, many times already. However, we have only ever done the same old things (riverwalk, The Alamo...etc). I'm looking for other suggestions of things that we may have never done before... Any ideas will help!! Thanks!

San Antonio Wyndham St. Anthony Hotel
Posted: Tue August 21, 2007 01:49 AM UTC
I want to book the Wyndham St. Anthony for a meeting for 140 people. I have read the reviews about the hotel they go from great to terrible. Does anyone know about this hotel? I also read that there is a park across the street with a large homeless population. Can anyone tell me about the safety of the neighborhood? Can you walk at night without fear?

San Antonio sea world trip?
Posted: Wed August 1, 2007 12:07 PM UTC
I am planning a trip down to Sea World at San antanio next week for 3-4 days with three other friends. I am new in Texas, and not aquainted with the driving directions, i will be driving down from wichita falls to san antanio. I would like to see most of the park and enjoy all the shows and rides. Can anyone suggest me, how do i plan my trip, when to begin from wichita falls (i may take 7-8 hrs to drive down with a few stops), where do i lodge in (some cheaper accomodation), any other places to see, do's and don'ts at the park, how do i manage my time, etc.

Thank You

My wife and I plan to visit San Antonio in late October. We will be flying into Houston and thinking about renting a car to drive to San Antonio. I expect it will take 3-4 hours. Alternatively, we could fly of course. Recommendations either way would be appreciated. Thanks.

San Antonio California family moving to San Antonio
Posted: Wed April 4, 2007 02:27 AM UTC
I have visited San Antonio a couple of times and we love it....we even went last August to get a taste of what a summer would be like. My family is originally from Texas and I was raised and live on California's Central Coast and the weather is always great, but the idea of one parent staying home is worth it to us giving up the great weather.

We have four children (6, 11, 13, 14) and would like to know what areas in SA have great public schools? I was looking at Castle Hills area.....is anyone familiar with this part of SA? The public and private schools in Castle Hills? Or perhaps there are other great places in SA to raise my family, please feel free to recommend. Any information would be appreciated.

Also, my background is in finance/accounting.....are there career opportunities close to Castle Hills?

Thanks.
