Cluj-Napoca Krakow (Poland) to Cluj
Posted: Wed June 25, 2008 06:39 PM UTC
Hi there fellow VTs,

I'm visiting Krakow, Poland in August (probably for 3 days, 8, 9 and 10) and from there I'd like to go to Cluj. The problem is that I can't seem to find good, solid info about the possibilities of transportation. So, can any of you help me out as you've done so many times in the past?

Many thanks in advance,

Rui

Cluj-Napoca Tours to Istanbul from Cluj Napoca
Posted: Sun January 14, 2007 07:10 AM UTC
My husband and I will be in Cluj Napoca for a couple weeks. We are wondering if there are local tour companies that can arrange a quick 2 day tour to see the Hagia Sophia/Blue Mosque in Turkey? Would we have better luck with locating a tour from another city - such as Bucharest?

Thanks for reading and any help!

Cluj-Napoca Saturday evening & all Sunday in Cluj for a first time visit....any suggestions?
Posted: Thu October 26, 2006 09:28 PM UTC
Hi fellow VT,

I just stumbled on to this site this evening when searching for information on my coming trip to Cluj! What a fantastic site and opportunity with an amazing amount of relevant and interesting information sharing!

Ok, ok - let me get to the point :-)

I am traveling to Cluj on Saturday, Oct. 28th. for business on Mon/Tues and I have taken the weekend to explore and to get a feel for the city, Romania, its people and culture.

I have the impression from reading a few posting in VT, that the city is fairly easy to get around in and I guess I will spend some time taking in a few of the main attractions (perhaps a trip to La Turda). If anyone can recommend any cafés, bars and/or restaurants or just any place for Saturday evening and Sunday brunch for people watching, meeting strangers and where people are fairly relaxed, I would appreciate this very much.

I read the Alex's comment about the Carpati - that sounded nice, so I will try to find that. I guess I can find an address, when I get there?

And if there is anything particular going on this weekend, any special events, festical, parties I would love to get a tip!

Thanks in advance!!

Kind Regards,

Natashja

Judetul Cluj Looking for a friend
Posted: Sun April 9, 2006 10:10 PM UTC
Hello everybody,

I don't know if it's the place to post such a question but I am trying.

I am from Switzerland but was living in Cluj-Napoca for 3 months in 2004 (February to April). There I met a girl named Annamari and we became friends.

When I left Cluj I had her cellular phone number but as I lost my own cellular phone last year I lost also her number.

Annamari is from Hungarian origin and was studying History at Cluj University. She is from a small village in the Center of Romania (sorry I don't remember the name). Her boyfriend Csongi is also from the same village. He was studying archaelogy also at Cluj University.

Now Annamari must be 26 years old and she might have finished her studies. She used to work at the Tranzit House in Cluj but left this place before I left Cluj. I don't know her last name.

Please help me to get in touch with Annamari.

Thanks.

Cluj-Napoca Need somewhere to sleep!!! And help with community art!
Posted: Mon March 6, 2006 07:11 PM UTC
I'm travelling to Cluj-Napoca with 3 friends on the 20th of March until the 25th/26th. I've been there lots of times but my usual accomodation is not available this time, and the only hostel I can find on the internet (Retro) is all booked out!!! The hotels are quite expensive, so unless I go without food for the week it looks like I'll be sleeping on the street! Does anybody know of a secret hostel that's not on the internet, or a house/apartment somewhere in Cluj that rents out rooms??? Please let me know as soon as possible, because I'm off to Lithuania on the 11th! If you could email me that would be great: nessargh@gmail.com

Also, are there any community art groups or people involved in community art projects in Cluj-Napoca and the surrounding area? One of the reasons for this particular trip is to do some research into a community art project I would like to set up in a poor area of nearby Turda. Any tips on community art in general would also be welcome. Thanks!

Judetul Cluj Lodgement in Cluj for a week
Posted: Sat January 22, 2005 08:25 PM UTC
Hello!

I´ll visit Cluj in March, and will spend there over a week. I would prefer an appartment rather than a hotel room... anybody knows if that possibility of hiring appartment for days/week appartment exists? where can I get information about it?

Another question: I would like to know if it´s worth to rent a car for making trips from Cluj or it is better train/bus?

Thanks,

Teresa.

Judetul Cluj Traveling To Cluj
Posted: Wed October 6, 2004 12:33 AM UTC
I’ll be going to Cluj, Romania for about a month or a little longer, around January or February. I plan on applying at the University for next year. What are the chances of finding an apartment to rent for one month? I heard that a one bedroom apartment goes for around 120 EU. Also is there any advice anyone could give me about the application process for the University? I would be grateful for any advice.

Judetul Cluj iam going to Cluj
Posted: Sun April 11, 2004 09:10 PM UTC
Well, i applied for the Grant (Socrates) to go there, i have the company so now i only have to wait to see if they give it to me...well, i hope so, because it took me quite a lot to decide it but now i cant wait to go and travel ALL around...
I just wanted to ask if anybody knows how hard is to get an apartament over there, i dont know about prices and i would like to know before they try to trick me with money.
What i would like it would be a studio (with furniture) for one person in the center of Cluj, maybe with tv and not much more, how much that would be? and where can i go to ask for appartaments? iam worried about not knowing any romanian...would it be hard to get a place without the language?
i think i will have a place to stay for few days until i find something, but the idea is to go at the end of July to find something for the begining of August and stay for three months...
well, if there is someone who lives there and even wants to practice her/his english or spanish i would be more than glad, i hate being in places without knowing anybody.
thanks
