Timisoara British ex-pat looking for social activities in Timisoara
Posted: Sun May 18, 2008 05:17 PM UTC
I moved to Timisoara from the UK a couple of months ago, for a work contract. I'm due to be here at least another 4 months. I've not yet managed to meet any British (or other English speaking) workers for a bit of social company over here. Does anyone have any recommendations on local activities or clubs that would be a good way to meet people? I'm also thinking of joining a gym, but I don't know of any yet. Any advice would be welcome. I live very close to the city centre but don't have a car at the moment. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

Hi !

We want to make a trip Timisoara-Suceava-Moscow, taking the train N1839 from Timisoara to Suceava, and then in Suceava catching the train to Moscow (N382), going from Bucharest. Seems that neither travel agencies nor internet have informations that we urgently !!! need :

- how much days in advance tickets must be booked ?
- how much days in advance cushetes must be booked ?

- what is the exact price for the train Timisoara-Suceava (sitting places) ?
- what is the price for 2nd class (reservation with bed) for the train Suceava-Moscow ?

- whether it exists discounts for young people for these both trains ?

- when is the working time of tickets offices at railway stations in Timisoara and Suceava ?

Please, help with any exact informations...

Thanks !

Timisoara Timisoara-Szeged
Posted: Wed March 28, 2007 06:44 AM UTC
Hello

Does anybody know how to get from Timisoara to Szeged? Ar there any (un)regular buses that do this route? I know that with the train is more difficult because I have to change in Bekescsaba, but I think it's also a little more expensive. So? Anybody?

ps: I would like to go in the morning and come back in the evening

Thanks

Hi!

I will study in Timisoara for my MA and I am interested to rent a studio somewhere close to Parvan area.

Any ideas how much the rent is for the area?

Or, can I find roommates for a shared apart.?

Although a Romanian, I have no clues about the accomodation in Timisoara, so any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

Manuela

Timisoara Train tickets from Timisoara to Budapest offered
Posted: Thu July 14, 2005 01:46 PM UTC
Hope no-one minds me posting this up - we were told return tickets were cheaper than singles when buying these, so we've now two one way tickets between the above destinations up for grabs if anyone wants either/both. They're valid on an IC train, 2nd class, travel before August 29th (you'd still have to buy a seat reservation though, for a couple of Euros). Cost is £10 or 15 Euros each, which will save anyone doing that journey twice that much again...not to mention 3 hrs queueing in the CFR office in Timisoara, an experience of Dante-esque proportions! Anyone who's interested can email at swaggery777 at yahoo.co.uk

Timisoara Hostel Timisoara
Posted: Sun February 27, 2005 05:38 PM UTC
Hello

I was just wondering whether anyone had a contact for this place? The email on the web (fitt@xnet.ro) bounces back so if anyone knows any other means of getting in touch that would be greatly appreciated. Alternatively, if anyone knows of any other hostels/cheap accommodation it would be really good to hear about - my research doesn't seem to have unearthed very much!

thanks a lot!

I am going to Romania in 2 months to meet a friend I have only ever talked with and never met....yes I know about all the precautions of this so I am not looking to be told about how to be safe. What I am looking for is information about the culture. The person I am meeting is a guy who I am romantically interested in. So, any general information you can provide me on the differences I will encounter as a very liberal thinking Amercian woman would be greatly appreciated!
