What are some tips for general admission seating at Mud Island? bug spray? blanket or soccer chairs? parking? getting there early (before it opens at 7pm for an 8pm concert)?
Please help with whatever info you can. Thanks!

Memphis Hotel Accomodation Close I-40
Posted: Sun May 24, 2009 02:27 PM UTC
My husband and I are travelling through Memphis next month heading to Arkansas for a wedding. I am attempting to make reservations in a pet-friendly hotel close to I-40 but want to be in a safe neighborhood. Since we have a small dog, this really limits us to where we can stay. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or at least advise what are the safe areas.

Memphis First time tourist
Posted: Sun April 26, 2009 07:05 PM UTC
I am planning a trip for my husband and myself to memphis on october 2009 and would appreciate advice on where to base ourselves.
It has been a life long dream to visit memphis but i am receiving many conflicting reports on where to stay and visit, so much so that i am now delaying booking my trip. I was hoping to stay at the heartbreak hotel but have been told that it is in a very bad area. I also wanted to visit beale street but again am told that it's dangerous.
Can anyone please advise me of the best area to stay and visit.

Memphis Coming to a Grizzlies game and then possibly driving own to Tunica afterwords. Safest route?
Posted: Fri January 23, 2009 11:21 PM UTC
Hello, I am going to be coming to a Grizzlies game and was curious about the safety around the arena? Is it in a safe area? I will be coming in on I-40 from the west and would like to know the safest route to the Fedex forum. Also after the game I would like to go to Tunica and was wondering if it was safe to drive down 61 late at night? I see Graceland is not far off from 61 and have read it is really ghetto and unsafe after dark. Thanks a bunch!!!

I'm a straight guy in my last thirties just looking to party

Memphis Long term parking near S Main
Posted: Thu December 18, 2008 09:49 PM UTC
I am looking for long term parking for the duration of two weeks near S Main Street in, what I believe is downtown, Memphis. I am going to be riding the Amtrak and need a back up plan if their parking lot is full since it is near Christmas and everything. Really all I need are the names of parking spots like, 'fly away' chains and stuff like that. Thanks.

Memphis New Year's Eve in Memphis
Posted: Sun December 9, 2007 06:04 PM UTC
Hi. On a whim, my husband and I decided this morning that we would go to Memphis for New Year's Eve. We don't care to do anything too ambitious. We'll fly from Washington, DC, to Memphis on Dec 30 and spend two nights there. I have a few questions:

1. What are some good dining places? Anything good from a real dive to a fancy place will do so long as it's memorable (in a good way).

2. Where could/should we go on New Year's Eve? Live music, dancing, whatever . . .

3. What's the usual dress code in Memphis? Coat and tie? Jeans? In between?

4. Anything else we should know?

Thanks!

Memphis worried about safety in memphis
Posted: Sat August 18, 2007 09:46 PM UTC
Hello,
Im bringing my wife and daughter to Memphis for our vacation. Were from England and I have seen numerous warnings about venturing out after dark in Memphis. Were stopping at the heartbreak hotel which apparently is in a bad part of town. Is there anything to worry about or is it all hype. We will obviously want to go to Beale Street, and some of the other major attractions. Can anyone give me the do's and dont's. We wont be using a car,so which is the safest way to get about. If it helps we've been to Vegas a few times, and been Downtown there without any problems, is Memphis any worse or better?. Obviously we dont intend to wander off anywhere but what about returning to the hotel at night, are there likely to be problems outside at night?.
Well thanks in advance for any tips

Memphis Day Spas or Hot Springs, Arkansas?
Posted: Wed August 1, 2007 09:06 PM UTC
Hello to all!

While organizing my impending trip to Memphis, my mother told me she had heard that Hot Springs, Arkansas is a nice place for a day trip to relax and recuperate from touring All things Elvis. It's kind of far, so I was wondering if anyone recommends it, or if anyone knows of something similar a bit closer to Memphis?

We leave on Saturday. Thanks in advance for any replies!

Memphis Artisan Hotel , "midtown arts district"
Posted: Mon June 11, 2007 07:51 AM UTC
Hello to all,

Does anyone know anything about this hotel? The webpage says it's in the "midtown arts district." Is that a safe area to stay in? I´m less worried about the hotel than the location, that it's safe, with restaurants and things to do nearby of an evening.

Thanks in advance for any tips.į

Happy travelling!

Memphis Christmas in Memphis 2007
Posted: Sun April 29, 2007 02:20 PM UTC
Hi

Myself, husband and teenage son will be arriving in Memphis on Christmas Eve, from the UK. We are spending two nights in Memphis, then doing a tour of the South. We realise most places will be closed on Christmas Day, but does anyone know of anywhere interesting to visit that would be open? We are thinking of spending the two nights at the Heartbreak Hotel and doing the tour of Gracelands on Boxing Day, 26th December, which I understand is open then.

Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks.
