Strasbourg No budget hotels available in Dec weekends and train to Brussels
Posted: Sun September 20, 2009 08:14 PM UTC
I am dismayed to find that all the budget hotels seem to be full the weekend of Dec. 4. Is that because of the Christmas markets?

Since I can't find an affordable room on Friday Dec 4, I thought we'd go to Brussels earlier in our itinerary than planned, but I am having difficulty planning this route. I'd like to leave early evening 12/4 from Strasbourg to either Brussels or Gent (or alternately, stop in Luxemberg City for the night, catch a couple of sight in the morning, and continue on). Has anyone done this? Can you please advise me for cheapest and quickest options? Many thanks!

Thanks in advance!

Strasbourg from-to strasbourg

hello,
few questions i have, would be grateful if u could help:
what is the best way to arrive to strasbourg from Brussels? is there a train? where can i find the info, and how long does it take?
also, i'd like to know if its better to take the airplane from Frankfurt or Paris when in Strasbourg. I know there are new TGV trains doing the Paris-Strasbourg route, but how expensive are they? Could a german train going to frankfurt be more convenient and cheap?
I would also like a suggestion for places to stay in Str.
thank you very much!!

Strasbourg Driving from Strasbourg to Amiens
Posted: Sat September 20, 2008 07:02 AM UTC
I'll be in Strasbourg around mid-may and will be hiring a car to get around the country-side.

I was wondering how long it will take to drive to Amiens and what the average toll price is (I understand there'll be a few along the way).

Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

Strasbourg Accommodation in Strasbourg
Posted: Fri August 22, 2008 04:51 AM UTC
Hello!

We will be driving from Paris towards Landshut, Germany mid September. Can anyone recommond some good accommodation in Strasbourg (where will will stay overnight on our way to Landshut).

Ideally some accommodation that has parking at the hotel as we will be arriving late and do not wish to park blocks away from accommodation. It is very hard to find any reviews on hotels in these.

Thank you!

Strasbourg ciarus hotel strasbourg
Posted: Wed June 4, 2008 06:00 AM UTC
Need info on staying at the Ciarus family hostel On rue finkmatt in central strasbourg. looking to stay with our family of 4 --2 adults 2 teenagers. How is the hotel situated--easy walking to sites, safe area to walk at night, boulangerie, patisseries walking distance? are there trains and trams locally to take us to the surrounding area, colmar, riquewihr? Is hotel quiet/rowdy at night/rooms clean?

Comparing the ciarus with a gite in rural riquewihr, which would require more driving--thought the teens might enjoy being in the city center of strasbourg..first time visiting the region.

need answers quick
thank you

Posted: Mon April 21, 2008 11:58 PM UTC
Hello all, I will be traveling in some countries of Central and I want your help to know if you can write me some options to travel between Strasbourg - Viene - Budapest - Prague - Berlin. Is it possible to do everything by train? Or by bus? Is there any kind of "pass" that I can buy for all the trips? Does it have buses between these cities everyday?
My plan is:

Strasbourg 4 days
Viene 5 days
Budapeste 4 days
Prague 3 days

in the 5th day travel between Strasbourg - Viene
in the 10th day travel between Viene - Budapeste
in the 14th day travel between Budapeste and Prague
in the 17th day travel between Prague and Berlin

I do not like to travel during the night or arrive late night in the cities, but if necessary it would be ok.
Thanks a lot!

Strasbourg Train from Strasbourg to Brussels
Posted: Thu April 3, 2008 07:11 PM UTC
I wanted to take a train from Strasbourg to Brussels, and I wanted to buy a Eurail Benelux-France pass, but I'm not sure if this train would pass through Germany or not (thus requiring me to buy an extra ticket). I can't find the exact route map anywhere! Does anyone know if the Strasbourg-Brussels train passes through Germany? Or does it remain only in France/Benelux? Thanks so much for your help!

Strasbourg Sunday, anything open
Posted: Fri February 15, 2008 02:32 PM UTC
We want to drive over from Germany this Sunday and have a meal and stay the night.

Is there anything open and if so, in what area is the best for dining. We would like to go someplace more French, not so much German oriented food since we live in Germany.

Thanks!
