| Myrtle Beach | Coming to Myrtle Beach next week. Posted: Mon May 5, 2008 06:09 PM UTC
Hello,
A friend of mine and I are planning a road trip from Milwaukee, and will be coming to Myrtle Beach next Saturday or Sunday. We will be in Darlington for the race on Saturday and then we plan to come enjoy some of the Harley festival going on. Just looking for some people who will be around, maybe a place to crash or some helpful ideas about camping, and any general activities to do around the area. Thanks Corey O |

| Myrtle Beach | looking for a hotel Posted: Tue April 8, 2008 03:02 AM UTC
I'm going to M.B. in two weeks and I'm looking for a luxory hotel on the beach. I'm a self proclaimed "hotel snob" and mb looks like a fun place but the hotel choices seem kind of honky tonk. I have a 3 year old son so I like the water park features at most of the hotels. I was thinking of the Breakers, Dune Village and Coral Beach or Island Vista. Does anyone have any opinions on these hotels or any other hotel in mb? My main requirements are a luxory bed ocean views a restaurant and lounge and cool pools.

thanks for answers to previous question re Myrtle Beach - Atlanta. Now a new question - website suggestions please for any companies which might offer day trip tours to say... Georgetown, or Charleston? Also, I've seen advertised in a brochure (for South Carolina) under Family Fun & Entertainment, TIGERS (SEASONAL) - but can't see where or when - any ideas? thanks

| Myrtle Beach | November visit Posted: Wed August 8, 2007 05:08 PM UTC
I am planning a one week family vacation to Myrtle Beach in November With another family. We have 7 kids all together, ages 2-15. Is there a lot of businesses that stay open through November, basically for entertainment? I would hate to have the whole "boardwalk" closed down during our visit.
Thanks for any info., Michelle |

| Myrtle Beach | transportation Posted: Thu August 2, 2007 09:59 AM UTC
Howdy from Australia! What distance is it from Myrtle Beach (coming next year to check out the Hard Rock Cafe Theme Park) to Atlanta in Georgia - ie, would train or coach actually be quicker than flying given it is my experience hotel pick-ups are usually 3hrs before flight time? Big thanks.

| Myrtle Beach | Staying in N. Myrtle Beach but wanting to visit S Myrtle Beach--Convenient Drive? Other Questions... Posted: Sat July 14, 2007 12:54 AM UTC
We are staying at the Patricia Grand Resort in August for a few days, as we are looking to be in the more remote area of the beach away from S Ocean BLVD. I am assuming that it is about 10-20 minutes away from most locations on the south side. Is this an easy drive or is it very crowded? (We are staying in the middle of the week) Wanting to at least go down to South Myrtle Beach for a day to just walk around and visit the shops. Is parking a problem? What about public transportation? Affordable or out of the question?
Any advice is appreciated! Thanks! |

| Myrtle Beach | Unjustly evicted from hotel Posted: Mon June 25, 2007 12:09 AM UTC
My family just returned from Myrtle Beach where we had a horible experience with Captain's Quarters Hotel. On our 1st nite we got in the hot tub which bleached all of our swim suits completely white. Upon trying to see the Mgr. the next morning , we were put off for several hours, she said she was too busy interviewing and would call us in our room "later".That afternoon we went to the lobby where she became agitated at seeing us return and immediately became loud and obnoxious with us, finally ordering us to leave the hotel. We tried hard to reason with her but she was completely irrational and obviously stressed out. We were given a refund for our remaining stay but they kept that nights hotel charge. She said since it was after check out time(it was 12:30) they had every right to and since we had paid with a debit card , they would only refund back to our debit which took 5 days to post.Naturally,we had to find a new hotel and use our remaining cash to pay for it in the interim leaving us financially strapped and unable to do the things we had planned on with our family.
My question is: has anyone else had any such experience and do I have any recourse to recoup the money I lost ? I am trying to locate a headquarters or corp. office for them but with no luck. This hotel is obviously in crisis , the staff was all stresses and complaining and this incident was so out of control by the manager's behavior. I am so upset that the vacation we had planned for over a year could be ruined by something like this happening and now that I am home , want to see to it that someone is held responsible. Thanks for any help anyone can give me on how to proceed. |

| Myrtle Beach | 4th of July Posted: Fri April 6, 2007 02:37 PM UTC
Ok, this year I'm going to
Myrtle Beach the first day of july and staying through the 4th and a couple days after that. Just wanted to know is it usually crowded from all the tourists or not crowded because everyone went home to see their family's? I've been to MB a couple years ago & we got there late that evening on the 4th & it wasn't near as crowded as I thought.. but any info would be appreciated. |

| Myrtle Beach | Myrtle Beach for the summer Posted: Wed March 21, 2007 12:56 PM UTC
Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone could give me some pointers. Three of my friends and I (from Ireland) are planning on spending the summer in Myrtle Beach working and I have been trying to look for possible accommodation but I'm not getting anywhere. We really just need somewhere cheap and not in the dodgiest part of town. Any advice would really be appreciated. (Or job offers!) Thank you! |

| Myrtle Beach | NOT family oriented! Posted: Sat March 3, 2007 02:26 AM UTC
Hi,
We're planning a trip to Myrtle Beach in June--looking for an oceanfront hotel preferably w/ a tiki bar. Not into the family-oriented, more interested in party central. Are all oceanfront hotels far from main bars? Taxi required? Would love to be able to walk to great bars from hotel. Thanx. |

I was just wondering if anyone here had ever stayed at the Atlantica. Me and my husband and two of our friends are thinking about staying there this summer. We don't mind the noise because we want to be in the center of the strip. We just want a clean room in the middle of town.
