My mom and I are going to Kiawah Island and do not want to spend a ton of money. Are there any hotels one the island that are less than $100 a night? Also, if there aren't is there a town nearby we could stay at besides Charleston. We would like to have a hotel close to the beach but we understand that this comes at a price. Just wondering knew of a hotel farther up or down the coast that was cheaper.

Is there a ferry going over to kiawah island or do you have to take the bridge? How large is the bridge and does anybody have a picture of it? sounds silly but I hate bridge!! also, I heard that you cannot drive on the island..is this true? thanks for the information!!
