Hi,
I'm staying in a hotel on the outskirts of Providence. I would like to explore the city on foot and by taking trolleys. Where would be the best place for me to park downtown?
Thank you.
Arthur

Is there still a restaurant on Thayer street in Providence called "Montana's"? Just curiouse. I haven't eaten there in like 20 years, but a slow moment at work for some reason got me thinking about that.

Suprising my wife with with a birthday weekend in Providence. Taking ferry from Orient Point, NY to New London, Ct. and then off to Providence. I'll probably tell her then, where we are going. Arriving June 20th about 8pm to the Courtyard. What is a nice area to grab a casual dinner and walk around for a couple of hours? On June 21st Waterfire is the evening entertainment. We will have a nice dinner (possibly Cafe Nuovo but other suggestions welcome) and then a 9:10pm gondola ride. Looking for a nice casual paced itinerary for Saturday afternoon. I'm usually a VT junkie when planning our trips but I promised her the next trip would be nice and relaxing. I promised her we would not climb any church towers or massive hills on our next trip. We will also have a couple of hours on Sunday to explore. Thanks in advance.

I was lucky (?) to get tickets for Hannah Montana for my 3 grandchildren. We will be coming from NH and I would like to get there early enough to get them a bite to eat first. Are there any kid friendly (pizza, burgers) places within walking distance of the center? Also, my husband is driving us but isn't coming to the show (lucky?), is there a coffee shop nearby where he can sit and read a book while he waits? Thanks!

A group of over 50's friends will be staying in Providence on New Year's Eve. We are a fun crowd looking for places to hang out, maybe dance or listen to some music. Are there any places where us oldies will not feel out of place?
We are not into dressing for the evening and enjoy our beer and wine.

My friend who lives in Mass is planning a bachelorette in Providence. She asked me to suggest a few places. All I could come up with was either the Complex or The Hot Club and Fish CO. Anyone out there have any other good suggestions?

I plan to see Providence, RI, someday to visit the graves of Edgar Allan Poe & HP Lovecraft. But I can find no website of Providence which contains any info on these famous graves. (There are so few sites on Providence.) Can anyone tell me anything about these?

Hi,
I'm flying to Boston and getting a train to Providence from there. My flight gets in at 6:30 and train leaves at 6:50, so unless the flight gets in very early, there's no chance of catching it. (how long does it take in a taxi from boston airport to backbay station?)
second, I'm concerned as the next train after that does not get in until 9:50 - is it possible to catch a taxi from boston to providence and would this be expensive? otherwise is there anything in the local area of amtrak boston that I could do for a couple of hours (!)
I would really appreciate advice to save a boring wait! I don't drive..

HI there.
I'm considering a move back to the East Coast, and was wondering what neighborhoods are the best in Providence? It will help me in my job-searching/relocation decision.
I'm an urban creature, so I prefer something in-town with historic/architectural integrity, and a sophisticated edge.
I'll use your suggestions during my visit over Christmas.
Thanks a MILLION.(and I know Janet will have some info ;)

I have a request actually. Please send me pictures of Providence from the 1920's and 1930's. The whole town or especially HP Lovecraft environment (houses, places he used to go...) And if you have pictures of himself, family, etc ; it's very good. Thank for advance for any message and pictures at this adress : j_dwarfer@hotmail.com You can also send me questions if you want to ask me something about my place, and anything else. I assure you that I will answer.

Hi,
We're coming to Providence for a first time visit 7/2 and part of 7/3 then heading to Mansfield MA for the Eric Clapton concert.
We're staying at Cady House near Brown.
I've read that Thayer Street is a lot of fun so we plan to explore there.
Any suggestions for places with great vegetarian food?
How about great bar food?
