| Philadelphia | Philadelphia suburban motels on the SEPTA line Posted: Thu May 8, 2008 02:23 PM UTC
Can anyone suggest a Philadelphia suburb motel that's located near the SEPTA subway line? What are some small towns connected by the SEPTA toward the DT area? what area of the city should I try to avoid?

| Philadelphia | Help getting from airport to see sites while having a lay over at PHL Posted: Tue May 6, 2008 08:50 PM UTC
My husband and I will be traveling through PHL later this month and will have a 4 hour lay over going and a 6 hour layover coming back. I was wondering if someone could tell me if there are cheap options that would allow us to take a bus, train, etc. into Philadelphia central where we could take an hour or two to look at the Liberty Bell etc. The thought of hanging out that long at an airport between flights does not sound appealing. I would love to hear your opinions as to whether or not this would be feasible time wise or if the transportation system is good and efficent. Thanks in advance for your help.

| Philadelphia | Trying to find a food court near the Liberty Bell. Posted: Sat April 26, 2008 11:11 PM UTC
A couple of years ago, we visited the Liberty Bell. I remember that we parked at a food court/shopping mall within a block or two of the Liberty Bell. We plan on visiting again this summer and would like to park at the same food court. Can you give me any information about this mall? Thanks.

| Philadelphia | luggages and immigration Posted: Thu April 24, 2008 01:49 AM UTC
hi
i will be travelling with US AIRWAYS from manchester, england to manchester,NH and having philadelphia as my connecting city, do i need to re-claim my luggage in philadelphia and also go through their immigration even though new hampshire is my final destination? i would be really grateful if anyone could help me with the step by step guide of what to do in the airport from the time i'll disembark the plane and towards catching my connecting flight. do you think 2 hours lay over is enough? i'm sure you've got a hint now that i'm not a well travelled person that's why i'm asking anyone who can advise me with this journey to help make it more organize as much as possible... thanks in advance! |

| Philadelphia | Visit to Longwood Gardens Posted: Sun March 30, 2008 01:46 PM UTC
4 of us will be travelling from Philadelphia to Longwood Gardens, most likely by car, for a period of about 4 days in mid June.
Just wondering: 1) Is the drive an easy one 2) Which B & B would be a nice one to stay at, easily accessible to Longwood Gardens, at a reasonable price (confused by the number of attractive ads off the net) 3) What other attractions would be worth visiting around the vicinity of Longwood Gardens, as well as in Philadelphia Thanks. |

| Philadelphia | 30th St Train Station - personal storage lockers - leaving in AM !! Posted: Mon March 3, 2008 04:51 AM UTC
We are coming down tomorrow on Amtrak, just for the evening to see Bon Jovi in concert. Does anyone know if the 30th St. Station has readily accessible personal storage lockers so that we could leave our small travel backpack at the station while at the concert and pick it up after the concert on our way to catch the 12:38 train back home? If they do are they the ones that take quarters like the old ones or is there something special about them I should know? I would really appreciate anyone who could answer this before 9am on 3/3/o8. thanks very much. jharri2

| Philadelphia | PHL airport nap Posted: Thu January 31, 2008 03:09 AM UTC
We'll be returning from Italy on Sunday afternoon, April 6th and have a more than 5 hour layover at the PHL airport. Since we both have to work the following morning and won't arrive home in Florida until midnight, we'd like to have a nice quiet place to get a few hours of sleep.
A place within the airport itself would be ideal, although we could take a taxi to a nearby place. I checked the Airport Marriott and they want $269 for a room...ouch! Any ideas? Thanks, Ken |

| Philadelphia | AIRPORT TRANSIT Posted: Sat December 1, 2007 10:21 PM UTC
Travelling from UK to Acapulco via Philadelphia then Houston for overnight stay, before flying next day to join cruise ship. Does anyone know procedure regarding luggage at Philly. Will we collect it and then have to re-check it in for HOUSTON, or will US Airways move it through to next flight for us. Assume we will have to go through thorough immigration here. Any help appreciated.

| Philadelphia | New Year's Posted: Sat November 10, 2007 12:52 AM UTC
I will be in Philadelphia for New Year's for about four days. I am staying at the Westin downtown and wanted to know if any of the museum's, exhibits, or historical points of interest will be available? I will have a car, but would public transportation be easier to get around then driving? Also, looking for a 4 or 5 star restaurant that might not be booked yet for New Years and possibility of a club/dancing after. Thanks for any suggestions.

| Philadelphia | Which side of the river? Posted: Wed October 31, 2007 07:31 PM UTC
Hi.
I will stay 2 days in Philadelphia combining business (need to stop at my consolate) and leisure. I was wandering which side of the river is best to get an hotel: Downtown (convention center) or University side? During the days I will mostly be downtown side, but I would like to stay close to an area where would be enjoyable to walk and maybe hop in some bar or clubs at night. Thanks |

| Philadelphia | Activities for 3-year olds? Posted: Mon August 20, 2007 09:22 PM UTC
We'll be in Philly from Aug. 29th-31st (my 40th b-day and our 10th wedding anniversary) and our 3-year old twins will be with us. Any suggestions for fun activities for kids that young? I'm thinking the Franklin Institute might be a bit boring for them but I read that there is a children's museum behind the Franklin Inst. Any good? We don't feel like driving anywhere since we got a free parking deal with the hotel so we're looking for activites in Center City. We're staying at the Loews (12th and Market).
Thanks |
