I'm considering taking a job in the Corning, NY area. I'd like to get a variety of opinions about the region from the people who live there. I lived in Horseheads until I was about 10 but that was long ago.

What can you tell me about the best towns to live in? Where would you choose to live if you worked at Corning? Is Ithaca a bad drive from Corning?

Just how bad are those winters?

And, anything else you think I should know while I'm making my decision?

I ll be going to Cornell in late June To July. Where is a place I can relax, have great food and meet people at night as in the am i ll be attending classes.

i was searching for airplane tickets to ithaca for spring break and I came across this site:

Seems like the site is powered by kayak which searches all the travel websites like expedia, cheaptickets, etc...pretty cool since I hate going from site to site looking for the cheapest price...anyone have any experience working with them?

Heard abt the wineries in the area... Guess we hv to drive in order to reach there? No other alternatives like bus or cycle? Any contacts of the wineries which I can call to get their start/end times?

I'm going to travel to Ithaca this summer via Hancock International Airport.
I will visit Cornell and Niagara Fall, can anyone recommend me a cheap and good place to stay in Ithaca?
Also if anyone who have travelled internationally, do you know how to get a great deal air ticket?

How Can I get from NYC to Ithaca on public transportation? I don't think Amtrak goes there.

Any suggestions on particularly impressive vineyards? I've been to a few, but that was almost a decade ago. I'm not informed about the best places now. Emphasis would be on having fun and a relaxed atmostphere...thanks in advance!
