Versailles Luggage storage lockers in Versailles RER Station
Posted: Wed March 10, 2004 04:21 AM UTC
Hello,

I am planning a visit to Versailles Castle very soon, and I'm hoping that fellow VT members can help me out with 2 questions:

(1) Is Versailles Rive Gauche RER station closest to Versailles Castle, or is there a closer station?

(2) Could someone please tell me whether there are any lockers for storing luggage in the station? I will be heading to Paris Orly airport after my visit to Versailles.

Thanks!

Versailles Versailles Trip advice
Posted: Sun December 21, 2003 05:40 PM UTC
Hi All,
I'll be in Paris this year between Dec 29th to Jan 1st.
I'm planning to visit Versailles on 30th. I don't want to spend whole day over there. I would like to return to Paris and do the Sienne river Cruise in the evening.
I can spend max of 6-7 hours at Versailles. I'll be visiting this place with my Wife and will be accompained by my cousin brother who is joining me from Germany. I need some recommendations on the things I can do in this short period.
I checked out the following options.
1.A guided tour to Versailles with hotel pickup and drop off costs $68 (3 and half hours duration)
http://www.paris-trip.com/tours.asp?id=4

2.A guided tour without hotel pickup costs $58 per person. or Un guided tour costs 37$
(4 hours duration)
http://www.shop.viator.com/brochure/featured/CITY/PARIS/05

But somehow I'm feeling its little expensive for me.Can some one sugest me a economical way to do this. The only reason I'm kind of inclined to these tours is that they will cover in 3-4 hours. If we have to discover things on our own it might take longer.
Here are the details of the hotel where I'll be staying.

Grand Hotel Nouvel Opera
152 Avenue Ledru Rollin
Paris 75011
France

I dont know how far Versailles is from this place. Any other suggestions will be great..
Regards,
Mahesha

Versailles Music during the fountain shown at the Versaille Palace
Posted: Fri August 8, 2003 11:49 AM UTC
I have been to the Versaille during May. During my walk around the fountain (more precisely, the Apollo fountain) in the garden, I was very impressed by the piece of music being played. Unfortunately, I forgot to write down the name of the composer and the title of the music. Does anybody know who composed it and the title name of the music? I am very desparate for the information. Thanks!!
