Bronx Buying house in Bronx
Posted: Fri February 16, 2007 04:21 PM UTC
I'm planning to buy a house in the Bronx, NY area. I'm Asian, with two kids both of which are in the school age. I would appreciate very much anyone who could recommend a place in the Bronx area which matches my requirements as follows: (a) good neighborhood, (b) accesibility to public transportations,e.g., sub-way, buses, (c) accessibility to school, hospital, and groceries. (d) accesibility to church. I don't have much knowledge about the Bronx area. Aside from Riverdale area, any recommendation of other good places to raise a family in the Bronx area would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your kind help.

Hi, Im visiting NYC in November (17th-21st) and have been looking for a good hip hop club to go to. When I do a google search I get loads of results from my own doorstep (in England)! Im visiting the birthplace of hip hop for chrissakes, there must be some cool clubs around playing old skool stuff. Any recommendations?

Bronx a safe area
Posted: Wed February 16, 2005 09:23 AM UTC
Hi. Would anyone know if East 182nd Street is a safe area? I noticed most everyone had bars on the doors and windows, but whenever I visited, 2 people who live there told me that they never encountered any problems. Anyone know for sure? There's St. Barnabus hosp. on one corner; a school on the other and a senior citizen complex across the street, and a day care center on the other side of the house.

Posted: Sun April 18, 2004 06:40 PM UTC
hi.
i'm french .
i want to stay all summer in new york,to take pictures.

i'm looking for the cheapest room around.
i want to stay up to1 (or two)monthes.

so if you know a cheap hotel in your neigborhood,or somebody renting a room(just between him and myself),
well,let me know.

i say that because from france you see only medium and high prices hotels,as they pay to be in guides,or have an internet site, but last time i was in new york,i spotted 30 dollars rooms on time square!!!(42 w st)

so...i ask to you(i will be one of you this summer)

kind regards ;-)

Bronx Area around Jacobi and Montifieore Hospitals safe?
Posted: Fri March 19, 2004 12:07 PM UTC
Hi everyone,

If all goes well; i should be working at these two hospitals in the summer. I am currently debating whether to live in the Bronx or in Manhattan. As I would be moving from abroad, I would like the aviod the hassle of buying a car.

My question is, is the area around these two hospitals safe enough for me to take the metro at all hours? I am particularly concerned about walking to the metro stops in the dark. My working hours will be quite varied: like 5am-11pm (or later). I like to think I have good street smarts, I lived in Philly for 13 years.

Thanks ahead for any info!
