Transportation to/ trips around Nevada & Utah National Parks? Posted: Thu August 27, 2009 11:43 PM UTC
Hey guys,
I am planning a trip to Las Vegas later this year, I have some friends I can stay with who live in the city - but I want to spend most of my time exploring the various National Parks (grand canyon, zion, etc). Being unable to drive myself, I would like to find some sort of coach service that provides transportation to these Parks which I can pick up from within the city of Las Vegas.
Ideally, I would like to find a company that offers mini trips lasting around 2 - 3 days to various Parks, perhaps also including accomodation. This way I could spend 2 nights outside of Las Vegas, and then returning to spend a couple of nights with my friends before leaving again for a few nights on another trip.
Are there any such companies you know of that can provide such a service?
Many thanks for any responses!

Grand Canyon & Ranch Trip Posted: Tue August 25, 2009 11:44 PM UTC
Traveling to Vegas in November and flights and hotel booked for the Bellagio
We want to go to the Grand Canyon and go to see the hoover dam. Also want to go to a ranch and do the touristy cowboy stuff
Can anyone recommend any tour group as would like to do helicopter trip over the canyon. However 3 of the group are afraid of heights so they may want to get the bus back or drive
Is it cheap to hire a car just for a day as I know the Acrophobia's will not get into a helicopter
Cheers

Suggestions for a hotel offering a two bedroom suite Posted: Sat August 22, 2009 08:36 PM UTC
Hi,
Would anyone have any suggestions as to a hotel (on the strip preferably) that would offer a two bedroom suite. This is for 5 adults. If you have any other thoughts this one, I would really appreciate that.

Three Card Poker at the Flamingo Posted: Sat August 22, 2009 04:10 PM UTC
There is a table near the southwest corner of the Flamingo Casino where 3 lovely ladies deal 3 card poker and at times the Burlesque showgirls perform on a mini-stage above the table. Does anyone know what the minimum bet is there? If one is to lose money, one should do it in pleasant surroundings, methinks.

Air tours to the Grand Canyon Posted: Sat August 22, 2009 09:52 AM UTC
Hi all, I am driving from LA to Las Vegas and only have 2 nights there in October. I understand it's best to drive to the Canyon but that will leave me with not much time in Vegas. I've found a few air tours (fixed wing) on the web. Can anyone who has done these tell me how they went? Good experiences? Bad experiences/warnings? I also found one that visits the North Rim and goes to a ranch that sounded ok.
Thanks very much

Any casinos still have $2 blackjack? Posted: Thu August 20, 2009 03:58 AM UTC
We'll be traveling to Las Vegas next week and I'm wondering if any of the strip hotels still have $2 blackjack? It's been 7 years since we've been there and only the Sahara had it back then. TIA!

Does anyone know if the present run of Hitzville at PH includes the soul food buffet as it did in its previous life? There is no mention of it on the website where you can buy tickets?

Photo-taking restrictions? Posted: Sat August 8, 2009 12:59 AM UTC
Hi
I am new here and have not worked out how to do a keyword search on past forum questions. Hope fellow members won't mind that I ask a basic question: are there any restrictions on photo-taking anywhere, eg inside the casinos?
Thanks in advance.

Will I need a car - Las Vegas Motor Speedway Posted: Mon July 20, 2009 10:22 PM UTC
Staying at the Hilton at 2650 Las Vegas Blvd in late October for NHRA drag race at LVMS.
Does anyone know if the speedway or ?? provides a shuttle from the Strip area to the racetrack.
As we're only going to be there 3 nights (and, I guess, we can utilize taxis in-town) I'd prefer to avoid the whole rental/parking driving hassle if at all practicle.
As usual, any insight appreciated.

Best option hotel or home rental for 10 women? Posted: Fri July 17, 2009 11:33 PM UTC
In March, 10 girlfriends, from high school 40+ years ago - are planning a trip to Vegas. I've looked at vacation home rentals online, but in order to have 10 separate beds, (a requirement) the house has to sleep many more than 10 since most have king and queen beds for 2 (occasionally a few twins thrown in.)Then the house is SO big, it becomes really costly and we're not even on the strip. We could possibly get 5 rooms on the strip for less. We need a gathering spot (to have
morning coffee before headed out and a place to drink and laugh when we get in at night.) Any suggestions of something different to try or rental websites would be appreciated. Thanks, Jo

Tips on Food & Show discounts? Posted: Tue July 14, 2009 06:16 PM UTC
Hi,
Goin to Vegas in a week. Family of 3 w/ an 11 year old, we'll have a car. I'm hoping one of you savvy "Vegas"-ers can...
-point me toward websites or physical locations to get discounted show tickets
-suggest some buffets that are both good and reasonable
-suggest a water-park
-suggest any off-the-main-stream attractions that would be cheap & fun (city tour?).
-tell me if the "12.95" coupon book has anything worthwhile in it?
We're thinkin about catchin the Blue Man Group and Chris Angel....maybe the Excalibur show/dinner?
Thx.

Luxor or Stratosphere? Posted: Sun July 12, 2009 03:57 PM UTC
Hello,
I'm going to spend a couple of nights in Las Vegas next month. I've been searching for hotels, and I'm not sure what would be better: to stay in the Luxor Hotel, which seems to be near to other hotels or the Stratosphere Hotel, which is at the end of The Strip but near to Fremont Street. Could anyone recomend me which one do you think would be the best one? We won't have a car so we will need to use public transport or something like that.
Thanks a lot for your help!!

Traveling in August Posted: Sat July 11, 2009 04:24 PM UTC
My boyfriend and I are looking to go away on vacation in August. We are considering Vegas, but after looking at the weather trends in August, we don't know if we can handle the heat! Has anyone vacationed there in August, and can you tell me if you are able to sit out and enjoy the sun, or is it unbearable?
We are looking to go somewhere where we can sit out in the sun all day and read and relax, so the weather is very important to us. Thank you!

Car Rentals Posted: Fri July 10, 2009 08:54 PM UTC
Does anyone have any experience with any of the following companies as regards renting sports/exotic cars (not limos)? Voyager Classics, Beverly Hills Rent-A-Car, Rent-A-Vette (RAV) Exotic Car Rentals. I know they are not bargain type rental agencies and I have checked out their websites. Just wondering if they are reliable.

Brother's B-day. Posted: Fri July 10, 2009 05:54 PM UTC
I will be in Vegas August 1 through the 8th. It happens to be my brother's b-day, and was wondering if you guys had any ideas on something cool to do or get him in Vegas? He is in his early 30s. I looked to see if there were any fights but no dice. Feel free to throw out some suggestions, no matter how strange/ridiculous they are. Thanks ahead of time for your input!

Cirque du Soleil - ELVIS Posted: Wed June 24, 2009 08:25 AM UTC
Howdy. Has anyone heard 'more than rumours' re Cirque doing an Elvis themed show in the still-under-construction City Centre next to Bellagio? We'll be there 7th - 10th December and it would be top of the list to do, for us. I read there could be a formal start date in January 2010 (I think) but wouldn't they do test-run shows before??

MGM, Limos and Live Music Posted: Thu June 18, 2009 08:56 PM UTC
Hey guys
We're gonna be in Las Vegas from Ireland 4 nights at the end of July. Its our wedding anniversary and I wanna do a couple of extra things.
What's a good room to get at the MGM (East, South etc) or what should I upgrade to at check in?
Maybe want to get a limo out for a couple of hours one night. Do they get you into clubs and what's a good limo company and how much $ are we talking. There will be 4 of us probably for a limo.
Where is there a good band or Karaoke night on? Is there a Rockstar Karaoke anywhere?
Cheers!
