Helicopter Tours in Vegas Posted: Thu October 29, 2009 04:52 PM UTC
We are two women going to Vegas for the first time in less then 12 days. Can't wait. Staying in the Excalibur. Any tips would be appreciated.
Also just wanted to know what is the best helicopter tour around? Also what is the average price? We want to go on the helicopter tour rather than the bus or plane, also we want the 3-4 hour tour not the longer ones. Can anyone out there give me some advice. Thanks in advance.

First Time in Vegas Posted: Sun October 25, 2009 07:52 AM UTC
Hi everyone,
I'm planning a trip for my family + a friend to Vegas in mid Feb next year. It's always been my dad's dream to visit Vegas. I've been reading quite a bit of Q&As and reviews but would appreciate specific advice for the following:
1) We're planning a 12 day trip (excl flight) to Vegas. We're a group of 5 and because 1 of us (the family friend) has never visited Universal Studios before, we'll all be heading there together again. I can fly SIN-LAX or SIN-LAS and the fares are relatively similar. We're not quite keen to stay in LA for long though, probably a day or two just for Universal Studios and a Hollywood Bus Tour. Should I fly to LAX, find a hotel near Universal Studios, complete the 2 days then fly/drive to LV? Or should I fly direct to LAS from SIN then book a transporation + Universal Studios pkg from there?
2) Our real interest is in LV! It's been my dad's dream for the last decade. He's old now and says it's his last ever trip to somewhere so far. (Total journey from SIN is about 20+ hours) I really hope the trip will be a great one for him...I was contemplating staying in 2 different hotels on the Strip while in LV. We'd really like for him to experience the fancy/luxurious hotels there but he loves gaming as well but is quite a low-roller. I doubt fancy hotels go hand-in-hand with low-limit games so I'm thinking of switching to an OK hotel on day 5 so he gets to indulge in low-limit games without having to walk out of hotel. He has back problems so I doubt he'll want to walk anywhere far to reach a casino. Any suggestions? Or can I be hopeful that one of the five stars hotels do have low-limit games? The casino has to have slot machines (dime or less) for the mum as well. I read that many of the hotels are connected. Does it take long to walk between the connected ones then? I was looking at Vdara (very tempted because it's new and i love new hotels) and see that it's connected to Bellagio. If the walk from Vdara to Bellagio's casino is only 10-15mins, I would really love to stay at Vdara. But if the walk's gonna take long, then it's a big no-no for dad.
3) The rest of the activities, we're going to do Grand Canyon + Ranch (1 day), Factory Outlet Shopping (2 days), 2 Cirque De Soleil shows (O & Mystere). Haven't planned anything beyond those. Are there any other must-see shows? My parents can't quite understand English so the shows have to preferably be stunts/performances etc that are more visual (not skits/musicals/comedies etc). Apart from all that touristy stuff, if you have any recommendations on any must-visit places (even if it's less known), please feel free to share.
Thanks in advance!

Serious elevator phobia! Posted: Mon October 19, 2009 05:25 PM UTC
Hey guys. This is a serious matter for me. I’ve been so ridiculously scared of elevators since I was a kid and I never ride them and I mean never. Usually it’s not an issue because most buildings I use that are tall have stairs and I like climbing the stairs anyway. However, I’ve heard that most of the nightclubs and casinos in Vegas are on the upper levels and that the staircases in these buildings are for emergencies only – is that right?
So unless I’m very drunk, I will not even entertain the idea of getting inside an elevator.
Will this cause me problems in Vegas and does anyone have any serious advice about clubs, casinos and bars which are either ground level or accessible by stairs?
Many thanks in advance.

Please help, Los Angeles/Las Vegas/Grand Canyon/Los Angeles in 10 - 12 Days Posted: Wed October 7, 2009 12:04 PM UTC
Can it be done? Please advice what to do, where to go and how to do it. How long in LAX or LAS. My first trip to the US. I'm old but I travel with the girl in me so yes I will be going to the Parks but my priority will be nature/history (Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Hoover Dam); my g-friends like shopping, I don't but will go with them. Do we drive (will do if we can find a driver as I won't drive in the US) or publice transport; shuttle or public bus; and info on budget accommodation. If it can be done, I'd like to shoot to SFO for a day or two. I have just started putting our Itinerary together so I'll be very grateful for any suggestions from you guys...Many Thanks...

Best time to book airfare / hotel Posted: Sun September 27, 2009 12:59 AM UTC
We will be spending the week between xmas and new year (including new years eve) in Vegas this year. I'm wondering if anyone has insight into the best time to book my travel arrangements. Is this week generally a popular time for travel to Vegas? If so, I would think the sooner one books the better. Thanks in advance for all feedback.

Club VIP passes Posted: Tue September 15, 2009 07:46 PM UTC
My boyfriend and I are going to vegas this weekend. I've been before but never as a couple. I'm curious to see if anyone has purchased the VIP passes from the N9ne group to get into moon and playboy clubs. it's 40 dollars a person. I'm willing to pay if it will get us in without any problems and if the places are fun.
We are staying at the hard rock hotel, which i loooove. Any suggestions on a good club for us to go to where he can get in without paying 100 bucks??
thanks!!

Visiting Las Vegas Posted: Mon September 14, 2009 08:57 PM UTC
Celebrating a friend's 50th birthday at the end of September with a group that will be from various age brackets; 24 to 50. We are looking for a fun club that all of us will enjoy and can dance. Any ideas? Also, any suggestions on restaurants or other fun things would be helpful. I've only been there once at a conference and didn't have time to do much. Thanks!

On our trip we are planning to go to Las Vegas can anyone who has been to the Paris tell me if its better to have a room with the fountain view is worth the extra and if these rooms are better and do they have coffee machines in the rooms?
What about dinning as we have children that like the typical fast food shops and pizzas for lunch?

Any tips for Travelling to Vegas alone? Posted: Sun September 6, 2009 10:17 AM UTC
Hi there
Im travelling to Vegas for 4 nights at the end of November from the UK and there is a possibility I may be travelling alone! This will be my first time in Vegas. I have no problem with this as I travel a lot for work and spend a lot of time in foreign places alone.
Im just wondering if anyone has any tips as to what to do in terms of eating / drinking / playing / things to do etc..
Im into gambling so will probably spend a fair amount of time in casinos. I like blackjack and poker and Ive seen some really good value poker tournaments in some of the casinos. Just wondering if anyone can advise the best casinos to visit!
Also, im looking into hotels, Im looking at the Stratosphere (cheap, but not great location), Excalibur and Circus Circus as cheap options. I may want to treat myself and stay at the MGM, but Ill decide that later!! Of the other 3, which would you recommend?
Thanks for any help and advice!!

Has The Aztec Inn Changed In The Last 15 Years? Posted: Sun September 6, 2009 02:27 AM UTC
I knew the Aztec Inn back in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Are the Apts in back of it still motel rooms, or are they Apts. again? Has the neighborhood finally changed? It was pretty rough back then. Who finally owns the pace now?

Help on - Hilton Grand vacation from Airport Posted: Fri August 28, 2009 12:22 AM UTC
Hi
I got a really cheap deal on the Hilton Grandvacation, near circus circus. Is there any public transportation (CAT) I can take from the airport to the hotel? If so, how and how much? Since I only have an overnight bag.
If no CAT/bus available, how much is the cab fare from the airport to there?
Would appareciate your replies.
