two nights in town Posted: Wed May 6, 2009 07:30 PM UTC
I will be in albuquerque next week for two nights on my way to ca. Ineed to know of a really clean hotel in old town.I would like to keep it at around 125.00 a night.I am driving from tn. i was going to fly this week, but with the flu scare i canceled(and lost) my tickets,so my money is a little tight. And what do you think of the train ride into Santa fe the next day. Would it be to rushed or should i just do around in ALB- Thanks.

Pet Friendly Hotel for 10 days... any recommendations Posted: Tue April 28, 2009 05:39 PM UTC
Hi there - looks like our sweet rental won't be ready for us to move into until about 10 days after we arrive in Albuquerque. We're working downtown and looking for a reasonable hotel/motel that is pet friendly in the downtown/mid town area - any suggestions? Thanks!

Moving to Albuquerque... and saw a sweet rental... is the area okay? Posted: Sun April 12, 2009 11:11 PM UTC
I was in Albuquerque last week to check out the area and found a rental house located North of Lomas, East of Louisiana, West of Pennsylvania and just south of the Jerry Cline Park. The house itself is in great shape, owners seem nice enough... the neighborhood appears older with some nice and some not so nice on the same street and the adjacent streets - any advice about that area? Thanks for your help!

Nice Hike VERY Near Albuquerque Posted: Thu February 26, 2009 04:36 PM UTC
Hi Guys,
I'm visiting an old friend who teach at UNM, I was wondering if anyone had a great tip on a hike that's really close to Albuquerque. Any thoughts?
And if there's anything really great in the way of a hot springs very close by too, I'd love to hear that.
Thanks a million!

Walking safety Posted: Wed January 14, 2009 02:30 AM UTC
Hi All, I will be staying at a hotel on Central Avenue east of Broadway and was thinking of walking to the Convention Center (about a 15 minute walk). Would this be safe for a lone woman? This would be during the day. I ask because I've read there are some sketchy areas in downtown. Alternatively, I could take the bus to 2nd Street and walk from there.
Thanks :)

Hello its David from vero beach fl, usa Posted: Fri October 31, 2008 01:41 AM UTC
I will be in Albuquerque, nov 3, 2008 for at least 4 days maybe more. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on a quiet motel, that was reasonable. I am not a high roller , but like it clean and quiet, If i could get a deal I would stay longer but it seems the online deal makers are all in the same range. I wanted to go to the peak/ tram. I have to go to santa fe on nov 3, 2003 after that I thought I would dive back to alb, and stay there- open to all ideas- have info on cebu, bohol, camigiun philippines, china, and shenzen- glad to help -bye all,

Driving in the National Parks last week of November Posted: Sat August 30, 2008 05:03 PM UTC
Weather/Road conditions last week of November
Posted: Sat August 30, 2008 06:24 PM CEST
Hi,
We (4 adults) have planned a round trip (in a rented car) according to a route that you can check out the Google Map Link below. Unfortunately this trip has been delayed to the last week of November. Could anyone please give us some advice on what we have to expect of weather-/driving conditions in some of these areas, and if we ought to skip some of the destinations - or maybe find a completely different destination altogether. This is going to be our first trip to (and in) USA, and we would of course like to bring home to Norway the best of "memories" from your country :) THANK YOU!

Seniors driving from San Francisco to Albuquerque in November Posted: Sat August 9, 2008 07:04 AM UTC
We're two couples from Norway who intend to experience the Southwest United States. We'll fly into San Francisco and drive to Albuquerque; we estimate to use about 7 to 9 days on the trip. Would appreciate any suggestions to get the most out of this journey.

From Albuquerque to Flagstaff - early November travel Posted: Sat June 28, 2008 02:03 AM UTC
Friends, we would like to travel to both Albuquerque and Grand Canyon. But I have no idea what those 300 miles of I-40 will be like around November the 7th. We plan to rent a car. We plan to cover the distance in one day. How realistic is it? I appreciate any advise. Thanks.

Getting in late - where to stay? Posted: Tue June 10, 2008 02:18 PM UTC
We'll be flying into Albuquerque late on a Wed. night in Sept. (arriving after 11:00 PM) and driving up to Santa Fe the next day. By the time we collect luggage, get the rental car, etc. it'll be pushing midnight. Do you think we should try to drive/stay on the north side of town to avoid the worst of the next morning's weekday traffic or just book something near the airport - maybe traffic isn't so bad by 9:00 - 9:30 AM?

Hilton Garden Inn Uptown? Posted: Tue May 13, 2008 11:07 AM UTC
Hi, I will be travelling to Albuquerque later this month with a large party. We were scheduled to stay in the Marriott uptown, however there was a big error on our booking and we found ourselves not booked in & potentially homeless. We have been very lucky now to secure accomodation in the Hilton Garden Inn, Uptown. I understand that this is a brand new hotel, therefore it has been very difficult to find any reviews, pictures ect. on the web. Can anybody please offer a review or photos? Any offering would be appreciated. How does it compare to the Marriott and is it suitable for a party which contains 20 teenagers? Is it central to malls, attractions, ect.
Thanks & regards,

Albuquerque in Sept/Clubhouse Inn? Posted: Sat May 3, 2008 01:14 PM UTC
We're planning a return trip to NM that will probably have us in Santa Fe for 6 nights and Albuquerque for 3. We pretty much just flew in and out of Albuquerque last time so I'm doing a lot of reading about what to do while we're there - have decided for sure on Petroglyph NM, Sandia Tram, Acoma and a little R&R in Old Town and looking for more, if we can fit it in. What am I missing?
Was looking at booking the Clubhouse Inn as they have decent rates for big rooms, balconies (which we like) and are not too far from Old Town, museums, etc. but I read in another posting that Menual isn't a great area. How bad is it really? Any better suggestions?
No problem with an agenda for SF - will go back to Bandelier and Chaco for some hiking, an art cruise on Canyon Road, a day trip up to Taos, etc. Would be fun to hit some of the wineries I'm reading about in other posts! And I can't wait to do that drive over the mountains to Chaco again - that was a high point of the last trip!!!!
We'll be driving directly to SF the quick route, when we fly in, but would Turquoise Trail be a good route back to Albuquerque? We'll have time to putz a bit on that drive and we haven't been to Madrid yet.
Thanks for any advice ya'll might have for me!!!

Petroglyph, Sandia & Day Tours Posted: Sat January 26, 2008 03:29 PM UTC
Thinking of seeing the Petroglyph Monument and was wondering if there's public transport that stops near the entrance and can I just waltz in? Also, is Sandia Peak easy to just walk from the Tram and putz around? Finally, does anyone know of any day tours from Albuquerque to Acoma or El Morro (can't really find any)?

i will be traveling to albuquerque alone for a weekend. i am not sure that i will have a rental so i want to know the best location to stay that is close to things.
do people do a lot of walking in abq or is it primarily a driving city?
i am staying at a holiday inn. which is better for me in terms of walking or taking public transportation to and fro? 10330 HOTEL AVE NE or 2500 MENAUL BOULEVARD?

Madrid, NM Posted: Sat August 18, 2007 06:13 AM UTC
We traveled on the Turquoise Trail and came across a Trading Post that I believe was located in Madrid. They had the most AMAZING Native American pottery and rugs I have ever seen. Much of it belonged to the owner and was not for sale. Can you tell me the name of it, if you know, and can they be located via internet? I have a couple of questions about a great pot I bought there and would like to try to find more by the same artist. Thank you for your help.

My boyfriend and I are moving to ABQ in September with our two dogs, beagle and pitt mix. We want to rent a house that allows dogs with a fenced yard, within a reasonable price range, yet close to UNM and nob hill area. is this realistic? are there particular neighborhoods where the landlords are more welcomign to pets? thanks!

walking in a perfect world? Posted: Wed February 7, 2007 12:40 AM UTC
My husband and I are moving to Albuquerque this summer and are looking for a desirable place to live. To us that means walking/biking distance, 20 minutes or so, to:
-restaurants, health food and coffee shops, live music
-dog friendly, maybe a park
-preferably in an established area that's fairly safe - rather than the burbs
I know this is probably asking too much...
We will be working close to downtown and think that the east side would be better due to commuting. It seems online that the health food stores are all located on the east side of the river, is this true?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

Moving to ABQ in January and not able to check out the area before the move. Can anyone tell me about area South of Central Ave, West of San Mateo Blvd, east of Carlisle Blvd and north of Zuni Blvd. Saw an ad for a newly remodeled condo there. Its hard to tell from the picture of outside, but it looks a little questionable? It is a safe area? ThankMoving to ABQ in January, not able to come out and look around before the moves in advance for your help. :>)

Rio Rancho Posted: Thu September 7, 2006 01:23 AM UTC
Hello everyone! I am thinking to move to New Mexico from Germany. I will probrably come with a 16 year old boy and a 12 year old girl. I have looked at some of the schools thru the internet sites for Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, but of course, they dont talk about the quality of these schools.
Can anyone tell me which would be the best middle and high schools in Albuquerque? What about Rio Rancho? Are the schools there of high quality? Is it far to travel back and forth from RR to AB?? And does anyone know if RR has thier own interesting shopping and places to visit?
I enjoy reading the questions and informative answers here in this forum, and would be gratefull for any info.
I remain gratefully yours, new-moon-rising
